2021 LCS Spring Split Week 4 Preview

2021 LCS Spring Split Week 4 Preview

It’s been an interesting start to the 2021 LCS season. Cloud9 is at the top of the table at the halfway point of the season like many expected, but the three-way tie for second place does not include Team Liquid. Although Liquid added Alphari and Santorin in the offseason, they have underwhelmed with a 5-4 record at this juncture. They might fall to .500 when they take on Team SoloMid this Friday too.

2021 LCS Spring Split Week 4 Betting Odds

Cloud9 -823

Golden Guardians +497

Perkz has repeatedly shown he still has what it takes to be an elite mid laner. He leads Cloud9 in damage this year, and he has looked sharp on Azir and Tristana. However, C9 do have some issues. Zven and Vulcan haven’t really overwhelmed their counterparts in the bottom lane, and Fudge has not lived up to the hype.

It’s tough to see a path to victory for Golden Guardians though. Stixxay has been a steady hand in the bottom lane, but former academy players Ablazeolive, Niles, and Iconic have not looked great.

100 Thieves -356

Counter Logic Gaming +260

It was a rough last week for 100 Thieves. After a somewhat easy win over Immortals, they were smashed by TSM and then lost to the Golden Guardians in a 56-minute game on Sunday. The play of Ssumday was particularly concerning, as he has long been the rock of this team.

That gives 1-8 CLG some hope. This team showed more signs of life with Broxah finally in the starting lineup, and Finn is doing a decent job playing weakside tanks in the top lane. They are a sizable underdog for a reason, but CLG might be worth a shot at this price.

Team Liquid -222

Team SoloMid +171

Things are starting to come together for TSM. Although they were knocked off by Dignitas on Sunday, that’s not a bad loss since Dignitas are 6-3 too. They won six straight games before that defeat, and they knocked off Team Liquid when they met the first time two weeks ago. Huni is having a resurgent season, but SwordArt must perform better in support.

Liquid’s bottom lane is not putting up the damage that we expected coming into the season. Tactical and CoreJJ have not been as overpowering as we saw last year, as Tactical is not as decisive on the current meta champions. That makes TSM a solid wager as an underdog on Friday.

Evil Geniuses -246

FlyQuest +187

It hasn’t been pretty to watch FlyQuest. The acquisition of Licorice does not look as solid as it once did as the former C9 top laner is struggling, and mid laner Palafox has not performed particularly well. Two of this team’s three wins were against CLG and Golden Guardians, so the skepticism certainly feels warranted.

As long as Jiizuke doesn’t get too emotional, Evil Geniuses should pick up the win. The import mid laner has a habit of inting at inopportune times, but he is still capable of highlight reel performances on assassins like LeBlanc.

Dignitas -144

Immortals +114

The lack of respect for Dignitas is astounding. This team has figured something out, but observers continue to doubt their prowess. They are playing around jungler Dardoch, and he is helping to pave the way thanks to his deep champion pool. The bottom lane of Neo and Aphromoo are performing very well together too.

Immortals are an interesting team in their own right though. Xerxe has a tradition of playing very well early in splits, and Insanity is looking very strong in the mid lane.
