PSG.LGD are considered strong favorites to win their first International this year. They have won three tournaments this year, claiming first place in the WePlay AniMajor, the OGA Dota PIT Season 5 in China, and the OGA Dota PIT Invitational in Europe last month. PSG.LGD won six events last year and made it to the semifinals of The International in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Faith_bian won The International 2016 with Wings Gaming, and Ame has long been considered one of the top Carry players in the world.

The top-ranked team on the Dota Pro Circuit this season was Evil Geniuses. EG won The International 2015 and made it to the semifinals of the tournament in 2014, 2016, and 2018. They haven’t participated in many tournaments this year because of COVID, but they have some superb players like Arteezy and captain Fly.

OG became the first team to win The International twice in 2019, and the organization was also the first back-to-back winner of the most lucrative tournament in Esports. They bested PSG.LGD in five games in 2018 and topped Team Liquid 3-1 in 2019. OG added one of the top Carry players in the world in June when they brought back SumaiL, and he made history when he won The International 2015 with Evil Geniuses at the age of 16.

Team Secret is one of the most successful Dota 2 teams to never win The International. They finished fourth in 2019 and were bounced in the quarterfinals of 2018, but they have yet to even make the finals of the biggest event. Secret have a lot of consistency as this team has been together for almost two years, and both Matumbaman and Yapzor are considered top tier players.

The only new guard team that is considered a strong contender this year is Elephant. The organization was only founded last November, but they have already established themselves as one of the top teams in the world. Eurus is considered an S-Tier Carry, and he was long considered a star with Vici Gaming before joining Elephant.

Virtus Pro have long been one of the most disappointing teams at The International. They have never made it further than the quarterfinals of this event despite being considered one of the top contenders on several occasions. Virtus Pro showed they could compete with some of the top teams in the world at ESL One though, finishing runner-up in summer and third place in fall.

Only one other team has odds of less than 14-1. Vici Gaming finished runner-up at The International 2014, and they have gone on some deep runs here since that point. They have two runner-up finishes in 2021, but Vici haven’t won an event in a year.
