NBA Odds - Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten off to a terrific start, looking every bit a championship contender behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis. They have a game on Wednesday against a team that hoped to remain in the title hunt this year but instead has watched it all fall apart. The Golden State Warriors have been besieged by injuries, as their run as the NBA’s juggernaut could be over. Golden State looks like it will finish out of the playoffs this season with Klay Thompson and Steph Curry both likes to miss the season due to injury. The Lakers will aim to roll past the depleted Warriors in this nationally televised contest.

This NBA regular season game between the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.

Odds Analysis

The Warriors were rarely underdogs in the past few years, even on the road, but with Curry and Thompson injured and Kevin Durant now on the Nets, they are a shell of their former self. Golden State is already many games under .500 and the losses are likely to compound all year.

The Lakers, meanwhile, are rolling and looking like one of the best teams in the NBA. Los Angeles also gets the luxury of playing this game at home so the oddsmakers are going to make them the heavy favorites to take care of business.

Injury Report

Not only are Curry and Thompson sidelined, but Golden State power forward Draymond Green also has a finger injury that puts his availability in doubt for this matchup. The Warriors acquired standout point guard D’Angelo Russell this season, and he, too, is dealing with an injury. Russell missed a recent game with an ankle ailment so his status should also be watched closely.

The Warriors look nothing like the team that made it to the past five NBA Finals, as that streak will undoubtedly end in 2019-20.

Key Stat

121.9. -- That’s the average number of points per game the Warriors are allowing on the season. They obviously had a great offense with Curry, Thompson and Durant the past few years, but the defense was also very solid. It was an underrated aspect of the team’s greatness and the influx of young and less talented players has turned this team into one of the worst defensive groups in the NBA.

James and Davis are an elite duo and should have their way with the Warriors in this game. It would not be a surprise to see one or both of them cruise past the 30-point mark. Keep this in mind for the scoring total when it is released for this matchup.

NBA Pick

There is little doubt that the Lakers are going to cruise to victory over the short-handed Warriors. In some cases this could be a game that Los Angeles looks past and allows Golden State to hang around, but the national TV brings an extra juice to it. The Lakers will want to flex their muscles in this one and should make quick work of the Warriors.

Los Angeles is the pick to cruise to the win and should be able to cover the spread even though it will be pretty high because the talent disparity will be great.

NBA Pick: Los Angeles Lakers 123, Golden State Warriors 106
