NBA Basketball Odds - Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Clippers Game Preview

NBA Basketball Odds

The Los Angeles Clippers pulled off the unthinkable last time out, rallying from a 31-point deficit to defeat the Golden State Warriors in Oakland and tie their first-round series at one game apiece. The Clippers are riding high and can suddenly put some fear into Golden State if they can secure another win, this time at home, in Game 3.

The Warriors are no doubt seething at the turn of events and will look to take control by winning next time out. Even though Golden State is on the road, it is the better team and will be the favorite to win this game and re-take the series lead in NBA wagering.

This NBA basketball game between the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California at 10:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 18th, 2019. The game will be nationally televised on TNT.

Odds Analysis

The Warriors have been listed as 7.5-point favorites to win this Game 3 matchup. Golden State comes in at -320 on the moneyline, while the Clippers are listed at +260 to pull off the upset. The scoring total is set at 237 points as this series has been an entertaining run-and-gun series thus far and doesn’t seem like that will be changing.

The Clippers rewarded those who took them on the moneyline in a huge way in Game 2. While the odds aren’t as lucrative in Game 3, another upset win would still be a nice addition to the bankroll for those willing to back Los Angeles once again in NBA gambling.

Last Time Out

The Warriors sure seemed like they were cruising to a 2-0 lead in the series when they led by 23 points at the half and eventually got it up to 31. However, the Clippers came storming back and shocked the defending champions with some strong play down the stretch.

Landry Shamet hit the go-ahead three-pointer with 16.5 seconds remaining to complete the comeback. Lou Williams led the way for Los Angeles with 36 points while Montrezl Harrell added 25. The Clippers shot a robust 56.5 percent from the floor, beating the Warriors at their own game.

Golden State was led by Steph Curry, who had 29 points, but it was the team’s defense that was a letdown late.

Injury Report

The Warriors lost star big man DeMarcus Cousins to a quad injury early in the first quarter of Game 2. The early indications are it could be a torn muscle, which is obviously very serious and could end his season.

Cousins tore his Achilles last season and signed with the Warriors to chase a title and rebuild his status as one of the best big men in the game. He was on his way to doing both but now may not play again until next year.

The Warriors still boast the star quartet of Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, but the loss of Cousins is certainly a big one.

Free NBA ATS Picks

The Warriors have to recalibrate after a stunning loss and the injury to Cousins. However, they have a day to get their minds right and should come out motivated. The Clippers are a good team and should be able to hang around for the majority of this game, but the Warriors will make their move late to both win the contest and cover the spread in NBA wagering.

The total is too high and the “under” is the better play.

NBA ATS Pick: Golden State Warriors 123, Los Angeles Clippers 112
