Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks NBA Odds

Warriors at Mavericks NBA Betting

A good one is set to go down in the Association at online sportsbooks in primetime Saturday night when Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors travel to Big D to oppose potential NBA MVP Award winner Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. Both teams find themselves situated at the bottom of their respective division standings, so the backend of this two-game series should be highly competitive to say the least. With Dallas finally just putting an end to its horrific six-game winless and coverless streak by defeating the Hawks in Atlanta on Wednesday night with all its pertinent pieces finally back on the hardwood, it’s time for the Mavs to once again start flexing their muscles. This team is by far the best in the Southwest Division and possibly even the NBA. With that, you should definitely entertain the thought of snagging them on the futures odds to win the division, conference and NBA title with the offerings likely to be the longest they’ll be the remainder of the season.

This Western Conference skirmish is set to go down live on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. The game will be broadcast live on ABC. We'll have NBA odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on the Saturday night NBA slate.

Odds Analysis

Golden State might be the owner of a +.500 11-10 SU record, but a majority of those triumphs have come against losing teams. Their best wins have come against both Los Angeles teams, but they also have one-sided defeats absorbed against the Nets, Bucks, Nuggets, Suns and Jazz. Bottom line, this isn’t a championship worthy team that’s capable of hanging with the best of the best. Dallas in my opinion is one of the best teams in the league! Curry is still electric and can lead the team to a win any given night, but not even his mastery of the deep ball will be enough to push the team into the playoffs in the ultra-competitive Western Conference. Though Dallas doesn’t rank out favorably statistically at either end of the court, the team is yet to get into a rhythm with one another due to injuries and COVID-19. That’s all about to change. The comeback win to take down the Hawks earlier in the week will prove to be the game that propels this team to a possible championship push. Mark my words!

Golden State Warriors

Even though it shot 46 percent from the field and drained 15 of 37 shots from beyond the arc, Golden State was still unable to defeat the Boston Celtics earlier in the week. The Warriors also forced 15 Celtics miscues which led to 17 fast break points, and outscored Boston in the paint 44-40. It’s main issue came in defending Jayson Tatum and company with Boston’s superstar going for 27 points on nine of 19 shooting. It also got destroyed on the glass getting outrebounded 51-36. With James Wiseman and his 6.1 rebounds per game still out of commission, Golden State will have issues coming up with loose balls regardless of Dallas being just as bad as them rebounding the basketball at both ends of the court.

Dallas Mavericks

It was the Kristaps Porzingis and Doncic show on Wednesday night with the duo each putting forth huge showings to lead Dallas to the 122-116 win and cover as 2-point road favorites. The former went for a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while the latter came two rebounds away from logging yet another triple-double with a team-high 27 points and 14 rebounds. Six players in all would go on to tally double-digits in scoring with the team collectively shooting 46 percent from the field and draining 23 of 25 free throw attempts; Doncic drained all 10 of his. Most important was another game under the belt for Maxi Kleber who logged 32+ minutes and connected on two of four shots from beyond the arc. He was a major piece to the puzzle earlier in the season when Dallas was cruising, so it’s key to the team’s success that he’s back and getting back into a rhythm.

Golden State vs. Dallas Prediction

The Mavs opened this two-game series on Thursday night having dropped each of their last four home games to the Suns, Nuggets and Rockets. None of those games were played with the roster at full strength. That won’t be the case this time around with the team ready to get back to accruing dubs with everybody back on deck. Golden State on the other hand will be down another big man after Kevon Looney succumbed to an ankle injury early on against the Celtics. With that, I just don’t foresee Golden State having anyone on the floor to prevent Porzingis from possibly logging a fourth straight double-double. As hard Curry will try to keep his team in the game, look for Doncic to be that much better in allowing the Mavericks to protect their hardwood and possibly sweep the home and home set. Seriously, buy Dallas futures now; this is only the beginning of its assault on the Western Conference!
