Golden State Warriors at Boston Celtics NBA Odds

Golden State Warriors at Boston Celtics NBA Betting

Since the calendar turned to the month of April, there hasn’t been a hotter team in the NBA than that of the Boston Celtics. Save for a 10-point home loss to the Philadelphia 76ers back on the 6th, Jayson Tatum and his mates have been perfect rattling off wins and four pointspread covers at online sportsbooks in their other six played games. Tuesday night’s huge road win in Portland now finds Brad Stevens’s squad owners of the No. 5 seed in the East. It was only a couple weeks ago that the C’s were on the verge of being bounced from the Eastern Conference playoff picture! Unfortunately, there isn’t much good news to report back on about Saturday night’s opponent – the Golden State Warriors. Another injury to Klay Thompson doomed the season before it even began. With other pertinent pieces to the puzzle succumbing to the injury bug recently, it comes with little surprise to see the Dubs falling out of the Western Conference playoff chase. Boston will be out to sweep the season rivalry after scoring the 111-107 win as 2.5-point road favorites back on February 2.

This battle of West vs. East is scheduled to tip live on Saturday, April 17, 2021. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET from the TD Garden in Boston, MA. The game will be broadcast live on ABC. We'll have NBA odds available at BookMaker.eu for this and every game locked in for Saturday’s six-pack.

Odds Analysis

The Celtics have held the upper hand in this non-conference rivalry taking seven of the last 10 overall meetings both SU and ATS. They’ll take to their home hardwood looking to score a fifth straight win and third straight cover over the Warriors. As offensive-centric each of these teams have been in recent seasons, it comes as a shock to see the under a perfect 10-0 in the last 10 skirmishes with an average of 208.1 points scored. The total went off the betting board in those games at 224.5 which means linemakers have grossly inflated the number to beat or these team’s simply just fail to live up to their season-long offensive expectancies when running up against one another. Golden State has played to the under at a 30-22-2 clip overall and seen it cash in 17 of their 27 played road games. Boston has played to the under at a 28-27 overall clip, but it’s 16-11 in their 27 games played in front of the Beantown cardboard cutouts.

Golden State Warriors

Since dropping four of five to the Heat, Raptors, Hawks and Wizards with the lone triumph coming against the Bucks, the Warriors have gone on to win and cover two straight against Houston and Denver. The most recent 116-107 outright win as 5-point home dogs against the Nuggets saw them take advantage of an injury to Jamal Murray that later was announced to be of the season-ending variety. Steph Curry simply went bonkers in that one going off for a season-high 53 points by way of shooting 58 percent from the floor and converting 10 of 18 shots from beyond the arc. While the win was nice, Golden State is still the No. 10 seed in the West a few games in back of the Mavericks and Grizzlies who currently hold down the 7th and 8th seeds respectively.

Boston Celtics

What a dramatic turn of events it’s been for the Celtics! Left for dead after dropping successive home bouts against the Pelicans and Mavericks to close out the month of March, the C’s have caught fire to cement themselves firmly in the Eastern Conference playoff picture; no longer does it look like they’ll need to play their way into the second season. A nice stretch of games ahead looks to only solidify their playoff chances with games scheduled against the injury riddled Lakers, Warriors and a Bulls team that hasn’t been able to get out of its own way since pulling off what many pundits believed was one of the best trades at the deadline. Tatum and Jaylen Brown have fueled the recovery and each was on display most recently in the exciting come-from-behind win to take down Damian Lillard and the Blazers on their own hardwood.

Golden State vs. Boston Prediction

Until it’s known who will and won’t be made available for the Warriors in this matchup, it’s tough to give a suggestion on either the side or total. But with James Wiseman and Eric Paschall either out for the season or the remainder of this month, it’s pretty safe to assume Boston will hold a distinct advantage on the glass that should be targeted in the prop betting market. Tristan Thompson and Robert Williams III should eat! From the Warriors side of things, you can’t help but think the scoring onus will once again fall upon the shoulders of No. 30. That’s been the case more or less all season but even more so recently. Since sitting out four games at the tail end of March, Curry has gone for 32, 36, 37, 41, 32, 38 and 53 points – that’s an average of 38.4 points over his last seven games! Hit his scoring and PRA props over the number. This game is nationally televised and he’ll be looking to put on a show!
