Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors NBA Betting

It looks like that little slump the Golden State Warriors recently experienced is over. Losers of five straight games, the Dubs fell off the pace in the Western Conference and were briefly overtaken by Memphis for the second-best record in the NBA. Golden State found a groove since, though, winning three straight by double figures, including Saturday’s victory over defending champion Milwaukee. The Dubs get another Eastern Conference heavyweight on this homestand with the Boston Celtics visiting on Wednesday night.

The NBA game between the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors will air live on ESPN with tip off at 10 p.m. ET on March 16, 2022 from Chase Center in San Francisco, CA. BookMaker.eu will have betting options for every game on the NBA schedule.

Odds Analysis

The Celtics put themselves in a good position in the East with a recent hot streak. They had won five in a row and 16 of their last 18 games before falling to the Mavs on Sunday. They moved into fifth in the conference standings and enter the week four games behind Miami for the top spot. They’re also just a game behind Chicago for No. 4. It’s going to be tough to maintain that pace but the defensive part of their game should keep them in most contests. Boston ranks third in points allowed and leads the Association in field goal percentage defense allowing opponents to make just 43 percent of their shots. As a result the UNDER is 37-30. Boston’s strong play on the road was huge in their recent surge. They are 8-1 SU and 6-3 ATS in their previous nine roadies.

Thanks to the reemergence of their defense the Warriors picked things up over the last few games. They surrendered more than 120 points in each of their last four games during their losing streak, but they got back in the win column with a 112-97 win over the Clippers last week. They held Denver to 102 points and cooled off the scorching hot Bucks in Saturday’s 122-109 triumph. The Dubs have four straight payouts and cashed the UNDER in those three wins improving to 34-30-4 ATS with the UNDER at 37-29. The Dubs won the earlier meeting in Boston 111-107 pushing the 4-point line. Steph Curry had 30 points despite going 8 of 21 from the field.

Boston Celtics

While defense spurred their recent surge, the Celtics were also efficient offensively thanks to the play of Jayson Tatum. The team’s leading scorer went for more than 30 in each game of the recent winning streak and the Celtics scored at least 100 points in 18 consecutive games until Sunday when they managed just 92. Tatum had an off game making 7 of 23 shots for 21 points.

The Celtics can bank on the knowledge that they’ve had plenty of success against the Warriors. The loss back in December ended a five-game winning streak where Boston went 4-1 ATS. Even when the Warriors were winning championships and reaching the NBA Finals the Celtics had their share of triumphs. Over the last 12 meetings Boston is 8-4 SU and 8-3-1 ATS. The Celtics have also won three straight and five of the last six in the Bay Area going 5-1 ATS.

Golden State Warriors

During their recent rough patch Steve Kerr gave his top players a rest for a rescheduled game. With Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins not making the trip to Denver, the Dubs were handed a fifth straight defeat. As it turns out the move was genius. It gave the three leading scorers a chance to rest while allowing others to play a vital role for at least one game. While the Dubs lost they displayed a feistiness that allowed them to score 124 points and cover the spread. And in three games since then the club hasn’t lost with payouts in each.

The Warriors are also hopeful the return of Draymond Green gives them a boost down the stretch. Green is expected to return to the lineup this week after missing nearly two months. Thompson has started to regain his form with his best game yet since returning after missing two seasons. Thompson dropped 38 on the Bucks hitting 8 of 14 triples to offset an 8-point game from leading scorer Curry.

With the Warriors getting pieces back that recent funk is a thing of the past. It started with a renewed commitment to playing defense and Green will be an asset in that department. Two of the stingiest defenses will keep scoring at a minimum, but the clubs can also score with plenty of shooters on the floor making me seriously consider backing the OVER since the total will be reflective.
