Tampa Bay Rays

Baseball Betting Bonus

The Rays host the Red Sox on Tuesday with Garrett Whitlock going against Shane McClanahan. One of the pitchers that I like to go with every time he is on the mound is Tampa’s McClanahan. He has not disappointed so far this season, but then again, the Rays have been superb. McClanahan has made two starts and gone six innings in each, allowing a total of two runs in those 12 innings. He has walked five and struck out 12.

On the other side Whitlock will make his first start of the season. He had a 4.15 ERA in nine starts for Boston last season. He then got hurt and returned as a reliever. He was solid in his last rehab start, but he faces a very good Tampa team on Tuesday and he is going against the Rays ace. I’ll take the Rays as the first team in the parlay.

Seattle Mariners

The Mariners have started to play better after a slow start and they should continue to move up in the standings. The pitching matchup on Tuesday has Chris Flexen going for Seattle, while Chicago sends Hayden Wesneski. The Mariners had to make a change in their rotation when Robbie Ray got hurt and they may be better off. Flexen should have been in the starting rotation from the beginning, but the Mariners were not going to bump Ray or the veteran Marco Gonzales. Flexen has been solid this season with a 3.00 ERA. He went five innings last time out against the Angels and allowed two runs.

The Cubs were all excited about the debut of Wesneski against the Reds, but he didn’t pitch all that well, giving up six hits and three runs in just 4.2 innings. Perhaps Wesneski will be the stud pitcher that the Cubs expect, but right now he is not. The Mariners have the edge on the mound and in the bullpen. I’ll take Seattle as the second team in the parlay.

Texas Rangers

The Rangers host the Royals on Tuesday night in what looks like a mismatch. Kansas City is scheduled to send Jordan Lyles to the mound, while the Rangers go with Jacob deGrom. I have no idea why Lyles is still in a Major League rotation, but I guess the Royals are desperate. Lyles was decent in his first start against the Twins, but it was back to normal last time out, as Lyles gave up eight hits and five runs in 5.2 innings against Toronto.

On the other side, deGrom struggled in his first start against the Phillies, but he was back to form last time out, as he allowed just two runs and two hits in six innings against the Orioles, walking two and striking out 11. I’ll take the Rangers as the third team in the parlay.
