MLB Parlay Picks for Friday, August 4, 2023

MLB Friday, August 4 Parlay Picks

It is a full MLB schedule on Friday night with a number of big series including the one in the Bronx between the New York Yankees and Houston Astros. Other key series are the Toronto Blue Jays at the Boston Red Sox, the Seattle Mariners at the Los Angeles Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers at the San Diego Padres. It is Apple TV+ night on Friday, as they are showing the Yankees vs. the Astros and the Tampa Bay Rays at the Detroit Tigers. ESPN+ has the game between the Kansas City Royals and Philadelphia Phillies, while MLB Network will show the Atlanta Braves at the Chicago Cubs in a matinee, the Blue Jays at the Red Sox and the Dodgers at the Padres. We hit the Dodgers and over on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and if not for the Brewers choking away a 9th inning lead against the Nats on Thursday, we would have hit another three-team parlay. We'll keep it the same with a couple of same game parlays and a three-team parlay. Let’s look at Friday, August 4 MLB same game parlay picks.

MLB Same Game Parlay #1

Atlanta Braves -150

Braves-Cubs Under 8.5 (-120)

$100 to win $206

Max Fried makes his return to the Atlanta rotation on Friday and all indications are that he is ready to roll. The Cubs just blasted the Reds and I think they get a reality check here against Fried and the Braves. Kyle Hendricks should get the ball for the Cubs and he normally keeps Chicago in games. I'll go with the Braves and the game under the total for the first same-game parlay on Friday.

MLB Same Game Parlay #2

Baltimore Orioles -170

Mets-Orioles Over 9.5 (-115)

$100 to win $197

It should be obvious to everyone that the Mets have packed it in for the season. When the GM comes out and says the team is playing for 2025 you know the players can't be all-in. The Mets are sending David Peterson to the mound on Friday and he is 3-7 with a 5.92 ERA. The Orioles will likely counter with Dean Kremer, but it doesn't matter to me who Baltimore throws, as they will score plenty of runs against Peterson. I'll take the Orioles and the game over the total.

MLB Three-Game Parlay

Houston Astros -142

Philadelphia Phillies -245

Milwaukee Brewers -130

$100 to win $325

The first team in the Friday night parlay is the Houston Astros. How can you not go against Luis Severino right now, as his ERA is 7.49? He simply looks lost on the mound for the Yankees and it is hard to believe he is going to figure things out against a potent Houston lineup. Hunter Brown gets the ball for Houston and he has been solid for the Astros with a 7-7 record and a 4.12 ERA. I'll take Houston as the first team in the parlay.

It is never a bad idea to throw a big favorite in a three-team parlay and we'll do so here and take the Phillies against the Royals. The Royals continue to send Jordan Lyles out there even though he is 2-12 with a 6.15 ERA. Aaron Nola isn't anything special but he should get the win in this one. I'll take the Phillies as the second team in the parlay.

Could it be panic time in Milwaukee? The Brewers are not playing well right now but they get the perfect tonic this weekend in the rotten Pirates. It should be Quinn Priester going for Pittsburgh, while Milwaukee sends Colin Rea. Priester has struggled with a 9.19 ERA even though his record is 2-1. Rea is 5-4 with a 4.76 ERA for the Brewers. I'll take Milwaukee as the last team in the parlay.
