MLB Futures – World Series Odds

The Houston Astros got a taste of victory in 2017 by winning the World Series. It looks like they are trying to quench that hunger once again. Putting together their second 10-game winning streak of the season, the Astros have built a huge lead in the AL West and could have the division clinched by the All-Star break.

Because of their recent dominance the Astros improved their odds as the favorite to win the 2019 World Series. The usual suspects reside at the top of the odds list to win the Fall Classic with the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees having their odds shrink this week as well.

We’re starting to get clarity in the standings now that Memorial Day is upon us. Enough games have been played to see which teams can survive over the long haul. We don’t have to worry about the Seattle Mariners, who were a big surprise at the start of the year. And the bottom of the list is more in focus right now than the top.

Below is a list of the updated 2019 World Series odds. And remember, you can wager on the latest MLB odds and props at BookMaker.eu.

The Astros are not only playing like the best team in baseball, which they are even after dropping a game to the Red Sox on Sunday, they’re sounding like it too. The Stros put together their second 10-game winning streak of the season to match the best start in franchise history through 46 games. The record was established in 2017, which ironically was the year Houston won the World Series.

Houston outscored opponents 76-21 during its winning streak and boasts one of the top offenses in MLB. The Astros own the best team batting average and enter the week ranked third in runs per game and home runs. Their plus-92 run differential is almost 20 runs higher than the next closest team. “I feel like this is the team to beat,” Josh Reddick said of his Astros.

The Yankees have an argument for Reddick and their play on the field has been solid, despite the loss of a number of guys to injury. Winning seven of their last 10, the Yanks vaulted to the top of the AL East ahead of the surprising Tampa Bay Rays. New York is the third favorite on the odds board at +570.

This year’s surprise team through the first two months is the Minnesota Twins, who lead the AL Central with the second-best record in MLB. They continue to climb up the odds list and can be had currently for the price of +1450.

Keep in mind that World Series futures odds are fluid and will change from week to week depending on how teams are playing. If you’re favorite squad is struggling now don’t worry, there is still time for that to change. And if you have a feeling that a club you want to back is going have a deep playoff run and the odds are favorable, jump on them now.

The Dodgers have been firmly entrenched as the favorite among NL clubs to win the 2019 World Series. It only makes sense for a team that reached the Fall Classic the last two years only to come up short. They have the talent on offense and the pitching staff is rounding into form now that Rich Hill and Hyun-Jin Ryu have returned from stays on the IL. We saw their odds drop from +600 to +525.

While the cream is rising to the top after two months, the crud is also settling at the bottom. There are a few teams to stay clear of even though their price is inviting. This isn’t the movies and Jake Taylor, Pedro Cerrano and Ricky Vaughn aren’t going to lift the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Baltimore Orioles or Miami Marlins.
