The College World Series field is set, as the last eight teams face off in a double-elimination tournament to claim stake to the national title. The Florida Gators are the defending champions and have made it back to Omaha. Florida entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed and will be the team to beat for the title. ... 

The Florida Gators are just one win away from their first College World Series title ever. Florida ran LSU’s surprise starting pitching choice Russell Reynolds in the fourth inning, scoring three runs in the process, and held on the rest of the way. Brady Singer was absolutely lights out for the Gators, striking out 12 batters in just seven innings of work and besting the Tigers once again. Florida’s dominant pitching staff will be relied upon again on Tuesday night.... 

The College World Series finals have been set. Two SEC powerhouses will square off with glory on the line in Omaha when the LSU Tigers take on the Florida Gators. Florida is looking for its first college baseball championship in the school’s long history. This is the 11^th time that the Gators have been to Omaha, but they have yet to win it all. Meanwhile, LSU is gunning for its seventh championship and its first since 2009.This game will take place at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, June 26, 2017. It will be broadcast on ESPN.... 

The TCU Horned Frogs were not ready to return home from Omaha just yet. TCU gave the previously undefeated Jackson Kowar his first loss of the season and ran him after just five innings of work. Although Kowar struck out 11 batters during that time, he wasn’t able to fully control his stuff and that led to six hits, two walks, and two wild pitches. Now the Florida Gators need a win on Saturday night if they hope to make it to the College World Series finals.... 

The LSU Tigers forced a winner-take-all game against the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers jumped on Jake Thompson early and rode star pitcher Alex Lange the rest of the way to pull out a tough 3-1 victory. It was only the second time that Oregon State has been tested since the playoffs started and represented quite the turn of events from the first two meetings between these teams. On Monday, Oregon State hammered LSU 13-1 to send the Tigers into the Elimination Bracket.... 

The College World Series kicked off for the TCU Horned Frogs in horrid form. They were shut out by the Florida Gators thanks to seven shutout innings from Alex Faedo. Now, they're going to have to go against the Gators once again on Friday night and hope to be able to scratch a few runs together if they want any chance of playing for a National Championship.This College World Series duel will go down Friday, June 23, 2017, at 8 p.m. ET at TD Ameritrade Stadium in Omaha. The game will be televised live on ESPN.... 

The LSU Tigers are going to get one more crack at the Oregon State Beavers. The No. 1 team in the land dominated when these two teams met on Sunday night, and if they can figure out how to topple the Bayou Bengals once again on Friday, they'll be off to the championship series.... 

The Louisville Cardinals and TCU Horned Frogs are both looking for a shot at revenge. Both suffered losses to the Florida Gators and are now on the brink of elimination. Neither team has ever won a College World Series before but were looking for their first one this season. TCU and Louisville each need their offenses to get going if they want to avoid heading home before the weekend starts.This game will take place at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 22, 2017. It will be broadcast on ESPN2.... 

Wednesday night will bring us our first rematch of the College World Series. The Florida State Seminoles are going to be looking for revenge after the LSU Tigers sent them into the loser’s bracket on Saturday. FSU battled back and knocked out Cal State Fullerton on Monday night to stay in Omaha for a little bit longer while LSU was hammered by No. 1 overall seed Oregon State. The first matchup between these two teams was close the whole way and this one should be as well.This game will take place at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. It will be broadcast on ESPN.... 

The Florida Gators got exactly what they needed out of ace Alex Faedo on Sunday. Faedo was lights out against TCU, striking out 11 in seven innings of shutout baseball for a 3-0 victory. Michael Byrne cleaned up the victory with two innings of scoreless action to notch the first shutout so far of the CWS. However, the Gators’ star rotation will have their work cut out for them against the Louisville Cardinals. Louisville has two hitters that are OPSing over 1.1 and will make Florida pay for any mistake.This game will take place at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. It will be broadcast on ESPN.... 

The Lone Star State will be down one of their two entrants into the College World Series following the elimination game between the Texas A&M Aggies and the TCU Horned Frogs on Tuesday. Texas A&M was the longshot of the tournament and happy to be here after avoiding mighty North Carolina thanks to goliath-killer Davidson. As for TCU, it had the misfortune of facing first-round pick Alex Faedo in its opening game. Faedo dominated the Horned Frogs with seven innings of shutout baseball and left them on the precipice.This game will take place at 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. It will be broadcast on ESPN.... 

It will be win or go home on Monday afternoon when the Cal State Fullerton Titans meet the Florida State Seminoles. Each team lost their CWS opener and now must grind through the loser’s bracket to have a chance to win it all. They are facing a steep, uphill climb as only three of the last 36 champions have lost their first game and ended up being crowned champions. Neither team will have their best starter for this one either, making the task that much more difficult.This game will take place at 2 p.m. ET on Monday, June 19, 2017. It will be broadcast on ESPN.... 

The chalk held firm for the opening day of the College World Series. However, it wasn’t easy for either the LSU Tigers or the Oregon State Beavers. Both had to overcome late-inning deficits in order to secure one-run victories and advance to the winner’s bracket. The winner of this game won’t have to play again until Friday and will get the chance to reset its rotation, while the loser gets thrown back into the grinder to play on Wednesday.This game will take place at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, June 19, 2017. It will be broadcast on ESPN.... 

The Louisville Cardinals are the favorites to win the College World Series. Louisville is in the bottom half of the bracket, away from powerhouses Oregon State and LSU, and will likely be a large favorite against the Texas A&M Aggies on Sunday. The Aggies have the worst odds to win it all in Omaha and are somewhat fortunate to get here after knocking off a Davidson side that stunned North Carolina in the Chapel Hill Regional. This game will take place at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 18, 2017. It will be broadcast on ESPN.... 

Neither the Florida Gators nor the TCU Horned Frogs have ever won a college baseball title before. These schools have been to Omaha often enough in recent years, but neither one has been able to crash through and claim its first championship. Florida is likely to be the favorite in the opener, but TCU should have more crowd support being that the distance is much shorter. The final game of the opening set could be quite a doozy.This game will take place at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 18, 2017. It will be broadcast on ESPN2.... 

Can the Florida State Seminoles finally win the school’s first-ever national title in baseball? Mike Martin has done everything else over his coaching career. He has the second-most wins all-time of any college baseball manager and has taken the Noles to Omaha 16 times. This will be the school’s 22^nd trip to the College World Series altogether. They have been to this point 10 more times than the next closest team without a title and will be underdogs in their first game against the LSU Tigers.This game will take place at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 17, 2017. It will be broadcast on ESPN.... 

The Oregon State Beavers are gunning for their third college baseball championship in school history. They were the No. 1 overall seed and have lived up to the billing thus far. Oregon State hasn’t dropped a game since losing to USC back on April 29 and it has routed its competition in the postseason to this point. The Beavers are 5-0 and haven’t won a game by less than four runs. That means the Cal State Fullerton Titans are going to have their work cut out for them.This game will take place at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 17, 2017. It will be broadcast on ESPN.... 

There is plenty of excitement in Omaha as eight teams battle to see who will be crowned champion of college baseball. All eight teams have been to this stage before, but five teams will be vying to win their first baseball title in school history. The action kicks off this Saturday and continues for the next 10 days. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the storylines heading into the CWS this year.... 

The Florida Gators are the second-highest seed left on the road to Omaha. Florida needed to play on Monday to ensure its role as a Super Regional host after losing to Bethune-Cookman the previous day, but is now looking for its first college baseball title ever. The Gators will draw a tough opponent in their Super Regional, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Wake Forest easily won its own regional with wins over UMBC and West Virginia last week, but now have to deal with the Florida heat.... 

The TCU Horned Frogs showed why there were a national seed in their regional last weekend. TCU routed all three of its opponents by at least three runs each over the course of three days and now get to host a Super Regional for a chance to go to Omaha. To get there, they have to beat a Missouri State Bears teams that showed they know how to win close games. The Bears couldn’t win the Missouri Valley Conference, but were able to knock off Arkansas in the Fayetteville Regional.... 

The Kentucky Wildcats needed to rally from a loss against North Carolina State to win their Regional and face their arch-rivals in the Super Regional. Kentucky had a nice offensive output to beat NC State in its next two games and now have an opportunity to make the College World Series for the first time ever. To do so, they must beat the Louisville Cardinals, a team that has dominated them historically.... 

Who isn’t cheering for the Davidson Wildcats at this point? The Wildcats were considered one of the weakest teams in the field with a record of 32-24 coming into the Chapel Hill Regional. They were expected to quickly roll over national No. 2 seed North Carolina, but instead shocked the world. The Wildcats knocked off the Tar Heels twice to get to the Super Regionals and will now face the Texas A&M Aggies with a ticket to Omaha on the line.... 

The LSU Tigers have been on an absolute tear. LSU hasn’t dropped a game since a one-run loss to South Alabama on May 9 and are lighting up scoreboards everywhere with some of the best hitters in the country. The Tigers are looking to get back to Omaha after missing out on the CWS last season, but need to get past the Mississippi State Bulldogs first. LSU swept Mississippi State just a few weeks ago, but the Bulldogs have looked better since then and won four games in two days to reach the Super Regional.This series will be contested from Friday, June 9, 2017 through Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Skip Bertman Field at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge. Death Valley will see night games on Friday and Saturday with both tilts starting at 9 p.m. ET. The first will be broadcast on ESPN2 and the second is yet to be determined. Game 3 will be played Sunday if necessary. ... 

The Florida State Seminoles are hoping that the 22^nd time is the charm. FSU has been to Omaha 21 times before and has returned home empty-handed each time. The Seminoles have thrice finished runner-up to the national champion, but have yet to win a college baseball title. They are the favorites to head back to Omaha in their Super Regional matchup against the Sam Houston State Bearkats.This series will be contested from Friday, June 9, 2017 through Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee. Both Friday and Saturday’s games are set to start at noon and be broadcast on ESPN2. If there is a Game 3, the date and network will be announced on Saturday. ... 

The Cal State Fullerton Titans will try to do what they couldn’t do in the regular season this weekend, beat the Long Beach State 49ers in a series. Long Beach State swept Cal State Fullerton at home in their three-game series earlier this season and the 49ers followed that up by beating the Titans two games to one at their place. This matchup means that the Big West Conference will place a team in Omaha for the fourth straight season.This series will be contested from Friday, June 9, 2017 through Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Blair Field in Long Beach. Friday’s tilt will be broadcast on ESPN2, while Saturday’s clash will be on ESPNU with Sunday’s game not having a fixed time or station if it is necessary. ...
