NHL Betting Odds: Saturday Best Bets

NHL Betting Odds

The Chicago Blackhawks are one of the hottest teams in hockey but it may be a case of too little and too late when they face a Montreal Canadiens team under intense playoff pressure. The Calgary Flames have surprised all in their challenge for the Pacific Division lead and have a tough assignment at the Winnipeg Jets. Few teams have been as impressive lately than the Boston Bruins but they will host a dangerous and desperate Columbus Blue Jackets team. In what could be a preview of the Eastern Conference Final the Tampa Bay Lighting host the Washington Capitals. The Let’s take a look at the best bets for Saturday in the NHL!

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Montreal Canadiens, 7 p.m. ET

The Blackhawks have won four in a row and have been one of the hottest teams on the board for the past few weeks. Chicago boasts the NHL’s seventh ranked goal scoring offense but offsets that with a ranking of 30th for goals against. Montreal is running out of steam with just two wins in their last five games. Montreal has won the last two meetings in their series with Chicago but the Blackhawks won eight in a row before that. The last three meetings between these teams stayed under the number. The Hawks have come away with the cash in their last four visits to Montreal with just one of the last seven in this matchup at Montreal going over the total. Chicago’s recent momentum makes them an attractive road dog in this one.

Calgary Flames vs. Winnipeg Jets, 7 p.m. ET

Calgary has fallen off the pace and out of the top spot in the Pacific Division with four losses in their last six games. Winnipeg has one of the top home ice advantages in the NHL with a record of 22-9-3-1. The Jets also boast the sixth ranked goal scoring unit in the league and rank fourth for power play efficiency. Calgary ranks 20th for the penalty kill which could prove deadly here. Winnipeg has gotten the money in seven of their last ten games against Calgary with five of the last seven between these teams going under the total. The Jets have had home ice advantage with four wins in their last six home matchups with the Flames. The last five meetings between these teams at Winnipeg have gone under the total.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Boston Bruins, 7 p.m. ET

Boston has been on a tear thanks in large part to ranking third for goals against. The B’s are 27-7-2-1 at home and have won seven of their last 10.
Columbus has won four of their last five games against Boston with the last eight meetings between these teams going over the total. However, at TD Garden the Bruins have won two of their last three against the Blue Jackets with the last four games in this matchup at Boston going over the total. CBJ has lost four of their last seven.

Washington Capitals vs. Tampa Bay Lightning, 7 p.m. ET, NHL Network

Since the All Star break the Caps have been one of the better teams in the NHL and they have won seven of their last eight to take the top spot in the Metropolitan Division. The Caps and Lightning have split their last eight meetings with four wins apiece. Just one of the last nine meetings between these teams went over the total. Washington has paid in three of their last four visits to Tampa Bay with just one of the last four games in this rivalry at Tampa Bay clearing the total. Washington epitomizes a quality dog here and will have the confidence to win at Tampa Bay after winning their playoff series with the Bolts last year.
