PGA Tour Betting – Odds on Tiger Woods Winning Grand Slam

PGA Tour Betting

Thanks to his win last month at The Masters, Tiger mania is back. And so are the betting options at BookMaker on Tiger Woods winning the Grand Slam. The Big Cat won his first major championship in 11 years in dramatic fashion at Augusta, rekindling talk of him not only catching Jack Nicklaus for the most major titles in history, but also becoming the first Masters era player to win the Grand Slam.

No player has ever won a season Grand Slam since The Masters became part of the rotation in 1934, and only five players have a career Grand Slam, which is winning all four majors over the course of a career. Legendary Bobby Jones is the only golfer to win the single-season Grand Slam, doing so in 1930, which was four years before the first playing of The Masters.

In the 86 years since, only Woods has come closest to a single-season Grand Slam. He actually held all four major championship titles simultaneously, just not in the same calendar year. Woods won the U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship in 2000, and claimed The Masters title in 2001. A rare feat indeed, and not to go without recognition, his accomplishment was dubbed the Tiger Slam.

Only five golfers have ever captured a career Grand Slam, so it shows you just how difficult it is. And that’s winning them over the span of an entire career. It’s no wonder the odds are astronomical for Woods to become the first single-season Grand Slam winner.

How Many Majors Does Tiger Woods Win in 2019?

1 Major -445
2 Majors +405
3 Majors +1025
4 Majors +12550 (Grand Slam)

There is one bettor who cashed in when Woods won The Masters, and he’s sticking with Tiger to win the Grand Slam. James Adduci put a $100,000 bet at William Hill Sportsbook on Woods to win all four majors. If Woods is successful, so is Adduci, who would pocket a cool $10 million.

The odds on Tiger winning a Grand Slam are longer at BookMaker, and the same wager at his current +12550 would net $12.55 million. It looks like Tiger’s biggest fan missed the boat and didn’t do his research of online sportsbooks. Just imagine what he could do with that extra $2.55 million.

Just like Mr. Adduci, the PGA Tour is salivating over Tiger’s recent success. And Woods elevates his game when the stakes are higher. There is less hair on his head and fewer yards on his drives, but there’s no denying Woods’ passion for the game. When he tees off at Bethpage for the start of the PGA Championship, it will be his first competitive action since The Masters. It’s a risk.

We expected to see Tiger at the Wells Fargo Championship to get some work in ahead of the PGA Championship, but he was a no-show. Nobody knows Tiger better than Tiger, and he roared through The Masters after some time off, so don’t read too much into it. He won the 2002 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black after winning The Masters for a third time. Can history repeat itself?

When the stakes are higher, Woods elevates his game. He may not win the Grand Slam and a more conservative bettor could take action on the upcoming majors. Woods is among the favorites to win the PGA Championship and he’s had success at Bethpage Black, though it’s been over a decade since he last won there.
