PGA Championship Golf Props

For golf bettors major championships are the equivalent of the Super Bowl with a prop bet menu full of wagers. This year’s PGA Championship will have over 150 of the best golfers in the world competing for the coveted Wannamaker Trophy and there is no shortage of betting opportunities. Rarely in a major does a player lead wire-to-wire so investing in the first-round leader will be different from the outright winner, or at least it should be. And we shouldn’t expect low scores on a course that’s yielded an average winning number of 7-under in four previous PGA Championships. Since it is a major we’ll see Tiger Woods in the field. The most polarizing figure in the sport, Woods has his own prop menu and should get plenty of action coming off his impressive return to the Tour at last month’s Masters.

There are, of course, the standard pick the winner and tournament and round matchup bets with sportsbooks going all out to produce an abundance of props. So if you’re looking for some side action to spice up your tournament experience head over to BookMaker.eu to check out the expanded prop bet menu for the 2022 PGA Championship.

Will a player lead the entire Tournament and Win?

Yes +1200

No -3300

Find some change between the cushions of your couch and throw it down on YES. That’s about all you can do on this prop since playing the other side offers nothing in terms of value. And there’s a reason for the long odds since going wire-to-wire is nearly impossible in a field as strong as this one. Last year’s winner Phil Mickelson was three shots off the lead after 18 holes, though he grabbed the top spot on Friday and never relinquished it. Leading in three of four rounds might be as close as anyone gets and the Southern Hills layout isn’t going to do the field any favors. But there’s always a chance someone plays over his head for four days and a small wager has a big return. Just hedge your bets by going with a more conventional prop.

Will there be a Hole-in-One at 2022 PGA Championship?

Yes -110

No -140

This is one of the most popular props out there and for good reason. Nailing an ace is always exciting since it doesn’t happen that often. Odds suggest we could see at least one of the best golfers in the world hit a tee shot into the cup with both figures at a negative price. And while it’s been 15 years since we’ve seen Southern Hills in the rotation, the guys have been playing golf nearly all their lives. That being said, there are a number of opportunities with four par-3 holes all under 255 yards. If you’re betting YES on this prop you can also drop a few bucks on a specific player or make a bet on the hole most likely to yield a hole-in-one. The 11th hole was the easiest to score for the field back in 2007 and at less than 200 yards there’s a chance for an ace.

Will Tiger Woods Finish in the Top-40?

Yes +120

No -150

As mentioned the Big Cat has an abundance of props all to himself and where he ends up is one of them. I started low going with a top-40 finish, though it still hit the board at plus odds. Backing Woods in any wager is risky since he’s played just once since his accident. And in typical Tiger fashion he made it a story. Returning at last month’s Masters was impressive, but Woods also made the cut, though he faltered, which wasn’t surprising. Admittedly stronger now using the time to build his stamina, Woods is a target for a big payoff. He triumphed the last time the tournament was held at Southern Hills winning by two swings at 8-under par. If you’re all over Tiger for a big finish go lower at a better price. A top-20 pays +275 and a top-10 is listed at +600.

Will the 2022 PGA Championship be decided by a Playoff?

Yes +350

No -560

It is playoff time around the sporting world so why not drop a few bucks on the Tour taking part. It’s not unusual to see the PGA Championship or any major go to a playoff. However, considering the number of great golfers at each event you expect it to happen more often. The last PGA Championship to go extra holes was in 2011, which was the second straight playoff. It’s been several years since we’ve had a playoff in a major with the 2017 Masters the last to decide a winner on extra holes. I guess you could say we’re due.
