PGA Championship Golf Props - PGA Tour Odds

PGA Championship Golf Props

For golf bettors, major championships are the equivalent of the Super Bowl with a healthy menu of proposition bets to liven up your tournament betting experience. This year’s PGA Championship will have over 150 of the best golfers in the world competing for the coveted Wannamaker Trophy and there is no shortage of betting opportunities. With golf an international sport and a huge field set to peg it up, nationality props are a big deal. As it stands right now Scottie Scheffler is the betting favorite in the outright market putting him tops among all American players. Another thing is we shouldn’t expect low scores at Oak Hill Country Club. The course hosted three previous editions yielding an average winning score of 7-under par. And that was before the property underwent a massive renovation a few years ago.

Rarely in a major does a player lead wire-to-wire so investing in the first-round leader will be different from the outright winner, or at least it should be. Round leaders are another popular prop bet. There are, of course, the standard pick the winner and tournament and round matchup bets with sportsbooks going all out to produce an abundance of props. So if you’re looking for some side action to spice up your tournament experience head over to BookMaker.eu to check out the expanded prop bet menu for the 2023 PGA Championship.

PGA Championship Prop Bets

Top American Finisher

Scottie Scheffler +470

Xander Schauffele +1000

Patrick Cantlay +1300

Justin Thomas +1400

Tony Finau +1400

With world class golfers from all over competing, the market of nationality props is big. Scheffer, the No. 2 ranked player in the world, is the favorite among American players and also opened as the outright tournament favorite. Scheffler was among the favorites last year and had a rare MC, so anything can happen. Scheffler is again playing solid golf with a pair of wins in designated events this season. I think there is better value in Xander Schauffele, who’s been as consistent as ever on the lead up with three straight top 4 finishes. Last time out at the Wells Fargo Championship he earned a solo second for his fifth top 5 in 13 starts. He also has a history in majors finishing among the top 10 in eight career starts

The tighter markets include top Canadian with Corey Conners at +200 followed by Adam Hadwin +400, Nick Taylor and Adam Svensson +500, and MacKenzie Hughes +550 thefavorites. Conners and Hughes earned their second career Tour wins this season while Svensson got his first. A simpler form of this prop is whether or not an American player will win. Yes is -160 with a non-American player at +130.

Will there be a wire-to-wire Winner?

Yes +720

No -2000

Going wire to wire in a field that consists of 99 of the top 100 players in the world is hard to do and the odds reflect that. This is a wager where a small investment could reap big rewards and if it doesn’t pay off the impact on your pocketbook is minimal. Justin Thomas made up seven shots on the final day beating Will Zalatoris in a three-hole playoff. At no point during regulation play did Thomas have or share the lead. I guess there’s always a chance someone plays over his head for four days and a small wager has a big return. Just hedge your bets by going with a more conventional prop

Will there be a Hole-in-One at 2023 PGA Championship

Yes -115

No -115

This is one of the most popular props out there and another simple yes/no wager. Nailing an ace is always exciting since it doesn’t happen that often. Odds suggest we could see at least one of the best golfers in the world hit a tee shot into the cup with both figures at a negative price. And while it’s been a decade since Oak Hill Country Club last hosted, the guys have been playing golf nearly all their lives. That being said, there are a number of opportunities with four par-3 holes all under 250 yards and two under 200 yards. Odds also exist for a specific player and round to yield an ace.

Will a LIV Golf League Player finish in the Top 5?

Yes -200

No +

The PGA Tour commissioner may not like LIV Golf but it has done wonders for sportsbooks with an entire prop menu dedicated to the new league. A total of 17 LIV golfers are scheduled to tee off this week, one less than what we saw at the Masters. And LIV had a wonderful showing at Augusta with three players finishing among the top 4. Lefty and Brooks Koepka tied for second with Patrick Reed a shot back tied for fourth.
