The injury bug played an enormous role in Gotham throughout Adam Gase’s first go round as the New York Jets head coach. The Browns haven’t reached the postseason since 2002 and haven’t had a winning record since 2007. Stefanski has his hands full, but the Browns do have talent. Without the preseason hoopla maybe they can play football and win a few games. ... 

Without one of the best quarterbacks in the league for a majority of the season the Pittsburgh Steelers still finished at 8-8, though the ending left the team wanting more. Even at an advanced age Ben Roethlisberger is the engine behind Pittsburgh’s offense. The decline without him was noticeable last season and if not for a stingy defense the Steelers would have been worse off. Big Ben is back, but can he lead the Steelers to a few more victories coming off elbow surgery? ... 

Only eight teams have higher season win total odds than that of Sean McDermott’s Buffalo Bills entering the 2020-21 regular season. After stockpiling 10 wins a season ago to destroy its 7-game win total, linemakers have upped the ante with Josh Allen and company owners of a 9-game win total. The betting markets look to be bullish on the Bills as well with heavy -123 juice in support of Buffalo at least matching last season’s 10-win output. For the first time since 1995, the Bills are a serious threat to the New England Patriots in regards to AFC East bragging rights. Buffalo split the season rivalry with the Pats a season ago, and looks to be the team most ready to take that next step within the division. Once it was announced that Tom Brady would be playing in Tampa the next few seasons, Buffalo saw its odds to win the AFC East plummet to the point that it’s now slight favorites to win it! ... 

The Baltimore Ravens literally ran away from everyone in the NFL last season on their way to the best record in the league. They won their final 12 regular season games before crapping out – again – in the postseason. You can’t argue with them being a legitimate Super Bowl contender behind MVP Lamar Jackson, and probably the best outfit in the NFL heading into the season. Their playoff loss to Tennessee might temper the expectations a bit, but they are a stacked team and 12 wins... 

In order to secure the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft teams typically have to be bad. That’s exactly the reason why the Cincinnati Bengals were able to select Joe Burrow. Coming off a 2-win campaign there is plenty of room for improvement. The Bengals lacked playmakers on both sides of the football, but they do have their franchise quarterback in place to help with the rebuild. Burrow will help a staggering offense, but holes remain for this team to show a 4-game improvement and go over its win total. ... 

With Tom Brady no longer under center and numerous contributors from last year’s first-rate defense no longer in the mix, the betting public believes 2020 is the first time in 18 years that Bill Belichick fails to coach the New England Patriots to at least 10 wins. The Clemson Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes ranked out as two of the best teams in the country last season. Unfortunately, neither was good enough to stop the runaway train that proved to be the national champion LSU Tigers. Dabo Swinney’s kids fought back valiantly to defeat the Buckeyes in the semifinal round, but then went on to get waxed by Coach O’s Tigers in the title game. As great a team Clemson possessed when it won it all a few years back, there were only three players drafted in the first round from that team. Still, it would’ve gotten the best of Ohio State who only saw two of its players taken in the first 32 picks. The Buckeyes are currently installed the favorites in the NFL Draft prop between Clemson and OSU this time around with most mocks only expecting Isaiah Simmons to be a lock for the first round.
