The last stage of the first season of the Overwatch League is set to start on Wednesday. This first season has been a smashing success with more than 100,000 people consistently tuning in for live matches, and thousands of others watching the VODs afterwards. At the end of this stage, the six teams with the best cumulative record over all four stages will compete in the playoffs for some serious prize money. Overwatch League Stage 4 Day 1 Betting Odds

Los Angeles Gladiators -135 San Francisco Shock +110

The San Francisco Shock were one of the most improved teams in the league in Stage 3. They treaded water in the first two stages waiting for both Sinatraa and Super to become eligible to play, and now that these two are in the starting lineup they have given some teams serious trouble.

San Francisco just missed out on the playoffs last stage and beat the LA Gladiators when they met last month. The new additions made a ton of difference with Sinatraa, Super, and Moth each performing very well.

There are other reasons for their success though. Sleepy has been one of the top support players in the league and his Zenyatta play has been very good. Another DPS player, Architect, has also come in and provided help while Danteh has been a steady Tracer player.

The Gladiators have turned a corner since adding Fissure as their main tank. This was an area of weakness before Fissure was acquired, but his play has made all the difference. According to Winston’s Lab, he is the second-best Winston in the league and that means a lot in a meta where he is almost always being used.

Although I also like the Gladiators’ support duo quite a bit, I think the Shock will pull this one out. San Francisco is one of my favorite teams entering the last stage and I believe there is hope for them in making the overall playoffs.

Seoul Dynasty -110 Los Angeles Valiant -110

For the last few months, the rule with Seoul is to zig when the oddsmakers zag. When the Dynasty are a favorite, you take the other side. When the Dynasty are an underdog, you back Seoul.

Seoul has been one of the most frustrating teams to watch. The roster is loaded with talent, but they seem to lack chemistry and maybe a few other things although most of this team played together prior to the creation of the Overwatch League. There may be some internal issues or back room playing time agreements that have hindered the development of a cohesive unit.

Meanwhile, the Valiant have looked much better since picking up Custa from Dallas. He has been a great shotcaller and led the team to their first playoff appearance in Stage 3. They should be even better in Stage 4 with more time to prepare and should probably be favored too. Seoul’s proclivities have many wary though.

Shanghai Dragons -120 Dallas Fuel +100

This is the clearest sign that Dallas has packed it in for the year. The Fuel have had an abysmal season. The team’s play has not been good and they have dealt with numerous scandals behind the scenes. At the end of Stage 3 it looked like they would rather be doing anything else as they were listless on the attack.

Seeing Shanghai favored over Dallas is still a surprise though. The Dragons are 0-30 and have won a grand total of 17 maps. Shanghai has slowly improved, but this team has some problems of its own. They have changed coaches twice and will have an interim coach for this stage too.
