While most of the other major regions have already decided their winner for the Spring Split, the battles are continuing to rage in China. We are down to our final four teams, and this weekend we will have two semifinals series to determine who will compete in the LPL Grand Finals on Saturday, April 28.

In the first series, Royal Never Give Up will take on Invictus Gaming on Saturday for a spot in the finals. On Sunday, it will be EDward Gaming taking on Rogue Warriors for the other spot. Both series will be best of five.

League of Legends LPL China 2018 Spring Split Semifinals Betting Odds

Invictus Gaming -245 Royal Never Give Up +205

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a team dominate the LPL regular season like Invictus Gaming just did. Invictus smashed their competition on the way to posting an 18-1 record, and their players received high marks for their team’s performance. Three of their starters were First Team All-LPL selections, while the bottom lane was named to the Second Team All-LPL.

However, their one loss all season came against Royal Never Give Up. RNGU has found its form once again with Uzi back in the line-up. The best AD Carry in Chinese history showed why he is considered one of the greats in League of Legends, and he helped lead his team to victories over Team WE and Snake Esports after a tough regular season.

RNGU has the star power with names like Uzi, Karsa, Mlxg, Xiaohu, and Ming. All of these players have played at both MSI and Worlds before and know how to deal with the pressure of this moment. Conversely, only Korean imports Duke and Rookie have a wealth of experience on this stage for Invictus.

That isn’t the only reason to doubt Invictus on this stage. Their starting top laner, TheShy, hurt his hand in early April and will not be available for the playoffs. Additionally, AD Carry JackeyLove has been playing professionally for two years, but he is still just 17.

In the end though, it will be Xiaohu that puts RNGU on his back and leads the underdogs to a 3-2 victory. He has been phenomenal in the playoffs thus far, winning the MVP award in four of his team’s five wins.

EDward Gaming -250 Rogue Warriors +210

It feels like this match-up is being overlooked because of the dominance of Invictus and the legacy of RNGU, but EDward Gaming has a legacy of its own. They are the most decorated team in LPL history with five titles to their name. They haven’t steamrolled their competition though, and EDG only saw Meiko and Scout awarded All-LPL honors this split.

The team has had its fair share of woes. Ray did not make the impact (get it?) that EDG was hoping for, and iBoy has been hit or miss in the AD Carry role. However, they finally received great news in their last match of the regular season as superstar jungler Clearlove returned to the line-up. Clearlove had sat out virtually all of the Spring Split, but he is now back to try to lead EDG to the LPL title and a spot at the Mid-Season Invitational.

If Rogue Warriors are going to pull off the upset, it will be due to their play in the bottom lane. There were many who believed that SmLz might have been the best AD Carry in China during the regular season. He was named to the Weekly All-Pro Team more often than any other AD Carry and has a solid support in Killua.

That won’t be enough to knock off EDG. I think EDG will win this series 3-1 in order to set up their fourth LPL Finals against RNGU.
