League of Legends Odds

We are starting to see some separation in the NA LCS. After a couple weeks of it being Team Liquid, Cloud9, and then everyone else, we now have some teams that have put themselves on different tiers than everyone else. For the most part, things have started to shake out like I thought they would. I thought Team Liquid and Cloud9 were clearly the two best teams in the region, and I believed that 100 Thieves were very overrated. However, there have been some definite surprises too, chief among them FlyQuest. They are currently in third place when I expected them to be around seventh or eighth this season.

League of Legends NA LCS Spring 2019 Week 5 Betting Odds

Team Liquid -450
Echo Fox +340

At the conclusion of Saturday’s matches, the first round robin of the Spring Split will be finished. Liquid are already going to go into the second round robin in first place thanks to a win over Cloud9, but they are out to start putting some distance between themselves and the rest of the field. Even though Liquid fell to Team SoloMid last week, this is the team to beat.

Echo Fox have a better chance of pulling off the upset then people think. They have a competent mid laner in Fenix and a bottom lane that can go even with Doublelift and CoreJJ. Echo Fox are worth a few dollars at this price.

OpTic Gaming +125
100 Thieves -150

This is a 100 Thieves line that makes sense. The oddsmakers are finally starting to rank this team properly and put aside preseason expectations. 100 Thieves lost to both Echo Fox and FlyQuest last week due to some questionable drafts and shaky play out of Ssumday in the top lane, and they can’t be too big of a favorite against OpTic.

That being said, I finally like the Thieves. Dhokla won’t be able to have the same success against Ssumday that others have had, and the bottom lane is going to get wrecked. Bang and Aphromoo should be able to win their lane heavy against Arrow and BIG.

Team SoloMid -190
Counter Logic Gaming +155

It feels like every time I talk about CLG, I talk about how much I like PowerOfEvil as a mid laner. POE is having another very good season, and he is starting to shine more now that he is on a better team, but let’s turn our attention to the bottom lane. Stixxay and Biofrost have made a pretty solid partnership, and those two are slowly turning CLG into a team with a real shot. Biofrost is the rare support that leads his team in KDA, and he has been great on Tahm Kench with all four of the team’s wins coming when he selects the champion.

That bottom lane can get the better of Zven and Smoothie and lead CLG to an upset win here. Zven has been average on any champion other than power picks Ezreal and Cassiopeia, and the need to prioritize a champion for him hurts elsewhere.

Clutch Gaming -110
Golden Guardians -110

Clutch are now on a six-game losing streak, and no one is a believer anymore. Damonte has fell back down to Earth with a thud after two great games to start the split, and the bottom lane of Piglet and Vulcan has been below average. However, the big story has been the fall-off of Huni and Lira. These two were considered two of the top players at their positions and seeing them both with sub-2 KDA’s is brutal.

I think Clutch have more natural talent, but I’m going with Golden Guardians because I think they are in a better mental state ahead of this meeting.

FlyQuest +145
Cloud9 -175

It’s going to take a lot for me to go against Cloud9. They continue to win and backing them has me in the black this year. Cloud9 never should have been nearly 10-1 to win the Spring Split considering they only lost Jensen, and they are turning it on with a solid understanding of the meta. C9 will rock FlyQuest this Saturday.
