League of Legends NA LCS Spring 2019 Week 3 Betting Preview

It turns out that Team Liquid have been as dominant as everyone feared they might be. Liquid are the only undefeated team left in the NA LCS after two weeks of action, and they will be heavily favored in both of their matches this week. They are playing two mediocre teams in Clutch Gaming and OpTic Gaming, and they are close to a -400 favorite in each. The question going into this week is whether or not we will see some separation in the middle of the pack. There are current six teams that have 2-2 records.

League of Legends NA LCS Spring 2019 Week 3 Betting Odds

100 Thieves -128

Clutch Gaming +103

People are starting to realize that 100 Thieves just aren’t that good. This team was pegged as the second-best team in the league coming into the year after adding Bang and Huhi, but there have been some chemistry and compositional issues. Ssumday taking Yorick into the top lane did not work out so well, and no one other than Bang has a KDA over 2.

They will be facing a Clutch Gaming team that crashed back down to Earth after a 2-0 start. Huni’s decision to take Jayce into Sion in the top lane against OpTic did not work out at all, and Lira’s Elise fell flat against Lee Sin in that one too. The bottom lane was a big problem too, with Piglet and Vulcan combining for just two kills in two matches last week, so I’ll take the Thieves with that in mind.

Team Liquid -370

FlyQuest +290

Even though they have the second-best record in the NA LCS, no one is really a believer in Flyquest just yet. They have yet to really distinguish themselves in the early game, and that is key in this meta. Pobelter would love to get some revenge against his former team though. He has a 13.7 KDA this year, and he has been superb on facilitating champions. His performance gives the team some hope, as he can counter an aggressive mid laner like Jensen.

I don’t feel too confident in FlyQuest’s ability in the other lanes though. WildTurtle and Santorin have been surprisingly good early on, but they are unlikely to do well in this match-up.

Cloud9 -140

Team SoloMid +115

Two of the biggest brands in North America are among the teams at 2-2, but Cloud9 have been a bit more impressive than TSM. Nisqy has played remarkably well in the top lane, and Sneaky is looking solid too after some iffy performances at times in 2018.

This one will come down to the junglers for me. Both Cloud9’s Svenskeren and TSM’s Akaadian have been best on Camille this split, but the champion’s recent nerfs will make it hard to play her in the jungle. They will have to find new champions to use in her stead. I feel more confident in Svenskeren’s pool than Akaadian’s so I will back Cloud9.

Counter Logic Gaming -115

Echo Fox -105

Oddsmakers are calling this one a virtual toss-up. Counter Logic Gaming scored an impressive win over Cloud9 last week and it looks like the decision to bench Darshan was a mistake. He has yet to die on Sion, and the team is 2-0 with him on the tanky champion this split.

Echo Fox has the advantage in bottom lane with Apollo and Hakuho playing well together, but I think that CLG has the advantage in the top lane and mid lane, so I’ll take them to win even though Rush has been better than his 2.1 KDA suggest.

OpTic Gaming -185

Golden Guardians +150

Golden Guardians are the only winless team going into Week 3, and the decision to bring together a bunch of veterans is not panning out. No one has really distinguished themselves, and OpTic should be able to roll in this one.
