League of Legends LEC Europe Spring

The team to beat in Europe is G2. G2’s experiment of moving mid laner Perkz to become the team’s starting AD Carry has paid off tremendously, as they are 6-0 with this current lineup. Bottom lane was the weak spot for G2 all throughout 2018 with Hjarnan needing to play Heimerdinger in order to have real success, so moving Perkz down into the position made the team stronger in the bottom lane and allowed G2 to sign star mid laner Caps. They have shown no signs of slowing down and are the only undefeated team left in Europe, but they have a tough match against 5-1 Team Vitality on Friday.

League of Legends LEC Europe Spring 2019 Week 4 Betting Odds

FC Schalke 04 -115

Misfits Gaming -105

Schalke has been one of the most surprising teams in the LEC to date. They are 5-1 despite turning over much of their roster in the offseason, and the formula has been simple. Give Upset as many resources as he needs to win games. Schalke’s AD Carry has a 10.7 KDA through six games, and he has been bonkers on Kai’Sa. He has a 43 KDA on the champion, and he crushed Rekkles in lane with it two weeks ago.

Misfits have a star AD Carry of their own. Hans sama has posted some crazy numbers this year, and his 13.3 KDA is even better than that of Upset. The only champion he has been subpar on was Kai’Sa, so don’t be surprised if she gets banned away. I think Misfits will do that and force Upset onto another champion he hasn’t been as impressive on and use their individual superiority to get the win.

Splyce -180

SK Gaming +145

It wasn’t a great week for Splyce last week. They went 0-2 in LEC play, and they really struggled to make their mark against the best teams in Europe. The play of AD Carry Kobbe has been something of a joy to watch in each game though. He has really mixed it up with his champion pool playing late-game scalers like Sivir and Kai’Sa, out of the meta picks like Varus and Caitlyn, and potential lane bullies like Viktor and Lucian. His 6.1 KDA is the highest on the team, and SK Gaming will look to shut him down.

SK doesn’t have great stats, but they do have wins over Fnatic and Excel to their credit. Werlyb has been solid in the top lane, but the bottom lane is a concern, and that has me siding with Splyce here.

Origen -285

Rogue +225

Rogue looks like the worst team in the league. They are 0-6 and the only team that has yet to secure a win this season. Rogue are big underdogs here, but I like them to pull off the upset at this price. This is a team filled with LEC veterans, and their performances have not been as bad as you may think. Origen only has one player that has looked impressive (Nukeduck), and everyone else has struggled.

Fnatic -155

Excel Esports +130

The branding is strong with Fnatic. The team with the most European titles was expected to compete with G2 for the Spring 2019 crown, but instead they are 1-5 and in second-to-last place in the standings. That isn’t enough to get oddsmakers to stop making them favorites though. They continue to think that Fnatic will turn it around and just need time to figure it all out.

At this point, I’m off the Fnatic train fully. Rekkles does not look like the dominant player of old and Nemesis continues to underwhelm in the mid lane. Excel’s bottom lane has done surprisingly well, so I’ll pick them to win here.

G2 Esports -210

Team Vitality +170

Until they lose, I can’t go against G2. They have been incredibly impressive this season, although their early game has been lacking at times. The individual talent of this team is clear, and although Vitality will give them a fight, G2 will get the win.
