League of Legends 2020 LEC Spring Split Week 8 Betting Preview

While most professional sports will be shut down over the next few weeks due to COVID-19, League of Legends is still happening in most regions around the world. The LPL has moved to an entirely online format, and it appears that the LEC and LCS may follow in their footsteps after this weekend. These proactive measures are needed with the virus currently leveling countries, but fortunately, the nature of Esports means that we can keep betting on gaming.

League of Legends 2020 LEC Spring Split Week 8 Betting Odds

FC Schalke -200
Team Vitality +158

Both these teams have been eliminated from the playoffs, but Schalke has been in much better form. Innaxe has been one of the top rookies of the Spring Split with a 5.6 KDA in eight games as an AD Carry, and Odoamne has played well on tanks in the top lane.

Meanwhile, Vitality has been a mess. Mid laner Saken has been benched in favor of Selfie, but that hasn’t changed this team’s performance. Cabochard is constantly getting dove in the top lane, and the bottom lane is a disaster. Take Schalke in this game.

Origen -600
SK Gaming +425

Origen will not be in Berlin for either of its matches this week, instead playing online from Copenhagen. Despite that inconvenience, they are a big favorite against SK Gaming this week.

SK’s AD Carry Crownshot has played well, but the rest of the team has struggled. Top laner Sacre has not been the game changer many were expecting, and jungler Trick has not been proactive enough in the early game.

Origen have an excellent early game jungler in Xerxe that can get his lanes ahead in the early game, and Nukeduck and Upset are great talents. Even with a bit of lag, they should be able to get the job done.

Misfits Gaming -150
MAD Lions +120

Misfits has been better than anyone expected this year. There hasn’t been a weak link on the team, and we have seen some really sharp play at all positions. Bvoy has been excellent in the bottom lane, and Febiven continues to facilitate for his teammates in the mid lane. Dan Dan has proven he can carry up top, while Razork shines in the jungle.

Humanoid has been getting caught out too much for MAD Lions. Although he is responsible for 29.8 percent of his team’s damage per Games of Legends, he is too careless with his positioning at times, and that can be punished by Misfits.

G2 Esports -900
Excel Esports +550

With only a one-game lead in the LEC Spring Split standings, G2 will be playing for keeps against Excel this week. We won’t see G2 smurf with so much on the line, and that should lead to a dominant victory for the best team in Europe.

Expect has not been too impressive in the top lane for Excel, and Mickey has been hit or miss in the mid lane. This team’s inconsistency makes it very improbable for them to beat G2.

Fnatic -260
Rogue +185

I really like Rogue’s chances to upset Fnatic this week. The talent has always been there for Rogue, and they are finally starting to put it all together. Their gold differential per minute places them alongside the best teams in Europe, and we have seen some great synergy from their lineup.

Rekkles continues to be the main win condition for Fnatic, and I think Hans Sama can punish him and Hylissang in the bottom lane. Hylissang is very hit or miss as a support, and that bodes well for Rogue.
