League of Legends 2020 LEC Spring Split Week 7 Betting Preview

There are seven teams fighting for six playoff spots in the LEC Spring Split. G2 Esports, Fnatic, and Origen lead the pack at 9-3, and they are highly unlikely to stumble given their pedigree and status as preseason contenders. That leaves Misfits Gaming, MAD Lions, Rogue, and Excel Esports to duke it out for the last three spots. Misfits has the inside track with a record of 8-4, while MAD Lions and Rogue are right behind the organization with a record of 7-5. Excel is trailing the pack at 6-6, but they beat MAD Lions in both of their meetings this season and hold the tiebreaker.

League of Legends 2020 LEC Spring Split Week 7 Betting Odds

Origen -200
Misfits Gaming +158

Origen is the most reliable team in Europe. The organization’s only three losses have come against G2 Esports, Fnatic, and Misfits, but their inability to beat any of those teams is cause for concern with playoffs just a month away. They love to team fight more than any other team in the region, and that’s why their average game length is longer than any other team per Games of Legends.

The key for Origen is Xerxe. When he is allowed to dictate the pace and influence his lanes in the early game, Origen do quite well. However, when he is held in check, the team tends to fall behind in the mid-game. Razork can do a good job of keeping tabs on Xerxe, so I like Misfits to pull off the upset.

Excel Esports -320
Team Vitality +241

If Excel are to make the playoffs, they cannot afford a loss to Team Vitality. Vitality are the worst team in Europe. They are 1-11 with their one win coming against 2-10 SK Gaming, and they have been incredibly disjointed. The only reliable part of this team has been Cabochard, and the mid lane and bottom lane have been a mess.

Excel should have little trouble dealing with Vitality. The bottom lane of Patrik and Tore has been very good, and Mickey has been improving in the mid lane. His ability to play over a dozen champions keeps his laning counterparts guessing, and he has a big advantage over Saken.

Rogue -150
MAD Lions +120

This is the second-most exciting game of the week. Rogue and MAD Lions are tied in the race for the playoffs, and a loss for Rogue would hurt as the organization has already lost to the Lions once this year.

Rogue has a very talented roster, but something has been missing. Their drafts haven’t been great, and they have trouble with their synergy. However, they should be able to get past MAD Lions as Humanoid is far too aggressive, and that can be punished.

FC Schalke 04 -130
SK Gaming +100

Neither of these teams will be sniffing the postseason, so it’s all about building for the future. It’s hard to get too excited for SK Gaming given what we’ve seen, but there is reason to be optimistic about Schalke. Innaxe and Lurox have made this team much better since entering the lineup, and this is a great price to bet Schalke.

G2 Esports -155
Fnatic +124

It’s always must-see viewing when G2 meet Fnatic. These organizations have combined to win all but one European title, and one of these two teams will probably claim the Spring Split crown too. G2 styled on Fnatic in the first meeting between these teams, but the reigning Kings of Europe have been vulnerable in the last three weeks with a 3-3 record in that span.

G2 have been known for putting it in cruise control, and that’s likely what we’ve seen in recent weeks. This team’s three wins have come against the bottom four teams in the league, but we’re bound to see the G2 of old this weekend. Look for this team to have something special prepared for Fnatic.
