League of Legends 2020 LEC Spring Split Week 3 Betting Preview

G2 Esports remain the team to beat in the LEC. The reigning kings of Europe obliterated Origen in Week 2 to show that any comparison between the two squads was short-sighted. They are the lone unbeaten team in Europe entering Week 3 of the Spring Split, but they will face their toughest test on Saturday when they take on arch-rival Fnatic. That is the game that everyone is psyched for this week, so it will be the final game played.

Team Vitality Check Back Later
Excel Esports Check Back Later

It’s been a rough start to the season for Vitality. This organization has yet to win a match at 0-4, and four of their five players have a KDA of 2.0 or less per Games of Legends. Top laner Cabochard has been repeatedly punished on both tanks and assassins, and mid laner Saken is struggling to adapt to the speed of the game.

Excel have performed well, but their success has largely been predicated on jungler Caedrel drafting S-Tier jungle pick Gragas. Gragas has a fantastic win rate in the LEC through two weeks, and both of Excel’s wins came when he was on the champion. Bottom laner Patrik has looked sharp too, giving Excel optimism going forward.

FC Schalke 04 -135
SK Gaming +105

Schalke have yet to win a game too, but that’s not incredibly surprising given this team’s losses in the offseason. The organization went bargain shopping after losing their top players to other teams in the winter, and they have already decided to shake things up. They announced that they would be benching Gilius in favor of Lurox this week, but the real disappointment has been Forg1ven. He has been responsible for just over 20 percent of his team’s damage despite drafting strong AD Carries.

It doesn’t make much sense to see Schalke favored over SK Gaming. SK aren’t a great team at 1-3, but two of their three losses have come against G2 and Fnatic. They have a top laner capable of carrying in Sacre and a reliable bottom laner in Crownshot, giving them an edge if Sacre and Jenax don’t give up solo deaths so often in the laning phase.

Rogue -145
MAD Lions +115

These two teams are both up and comers. Rogue continue to impress after their strong performance in the latter half of the 2019 Summer Split. Larssen has been fantastic in the mid lane, and the addition of Hans Sama has made this bottom lane something to reckon with this year. Their main issue has been their subpar drafting, but that should improve after being talked about extensively during the week.

I love Rogue in this matchup as both of MAD Lions victories have come against winless teams. They are undervalued given the talent discrepancy, and they should win provided they fix their drafting woes.

Origen -320
Misfits Gaming +241

After a winless opening week, Misfits Gaming performed much better in Week 2. They earned victories over SK Gaming and Excel to move to 2-2, as Febiven hard carried this team. Dan Dan shook off a dreadful performance on Nocturne in the top lane to lead the team in damage currently, but Origen are too good.

Xerxe will make a huge impact in this game. The veteran jungler has shined on Origen thus far, and he has already formed a solid bond with mid laner Nukeduck. He will likely be forced off Gragas though as all three of Origen’s victories have come with Xerxe on Gragas.

G2 Esports -235
Fnatic +183

Which G2 will we see in this game? The reigning Mid-Season Invitational champions love to toy with their opponents, and they brought out some interesting strategies against Fnatic in 2019. Some of those moves worked, while others didn’t pan out, and G2 could show us something we have yet to see in 2020 on Saturday.

Fnatic might deviate from the script too. Rekkles has an absurd 43 KDA while shining on new AD Carries like Senna and Aphelios, and new jungler Selfmade has shown incredible instincts. That could help Fnatic deal G2 their first loss of the season, but it’s hard to bet against the current juggernauts.
