2019 CS:GO CS Summit 4

This season’s CS Summit 4 will feature two of the best three teams in the world according to the rankings over at HLTV. While Astralis will be sitting out after finishing runner-up at BLAST Pro Series: Madrid, Team Liquid and ENCE will head to Los Angeles to take part in the competition, along with four others. Liquid and ENCE are the two favorites, but they aren’t as big of favorites as you might think given where they are ranked in comparison to other squads.

2019 CS:GO CS Summit 4 Betting Odds

Team Liquid +200
ENCE +240
Team Vitality +400
NRG Esports +600
Renegades +600
Ghost Gaming +2000

Liquid are feeling good after winning IEM XIV in Sydney two weeks ago. They were largely untested in their Group Stage, knocking off BOOT, BIG, and Ninjas in Pyjamas without dropping a game. From there, they beat Brazilian side MIBR 2-0 setting up a meeting with Fnatic in the final. They dropped Cache 16-10 but outlasted Fnatic on Overpass 16-14 and hammered them on Mirage 16-8. Fnatic rallied to thump Liquid on Dust II 16-6, but Liquid emerged victorious on Inferno to win the tournament.

The tournament favorites have three of the best 20 players in the world in EliGE, Twistzz, and NAF. All three players are still playing at an elite level, and the team is hoping that Stewie2K will eventually take the next step and make this team terrifying. Liquid traded a coach and a player to acquire Stewie2K from MIBR in December.

ENCE are the second favorite at this tournament, and they have looked like one of the best teams in the world over the last few months. The Finnish organization finished second to Astralis at IEM XIII in Katowice, sweeping Team Liquid in the process, and they finally knocked off the best team in the world in Madrid two weeks ago.

At first glance, ENCE don’t look particularly great. Allu is their best player, and his rating is 1.13, while two players have ratings below zero. However, we have seen this team continually knock off opponents that were supposedly better than them at the biggest tournaments. This is still a relatively young team in comparison to other veteran squads though, and they could be getting their feet under them.

Vitality are ranked 11th in the world, but they are the third favorite at this event. A lot of that probably has to do with the fact that they won the Charleroi Esports tournament over G2, Sprout, and Virtus.Pro, and they qualified over seven others to make it to ESL One.

I’d stay away from Renegades at this event. They are one of the longer shots, and they are going to be using a substitute from BIG as Gratisfaction is continuing to have visa issues. Smooya has not played for BIG since February, and it will likely take some time for him to get find chemistry with this lineup. He only joined on Tuesday, and the lack of scrimmage time will hurt.

NRG won CS Summit 3 over Optic Gaming in November, but we have only seen them win one event in the last six months. They won the Katowice Minor to qualify for IEM XIII in Katowice in March, and in the first leg of the major, they played well. NRG failed to win a match once the level of play rose though, so I would avoid them here.

Ghost are heavy underdogs, and they are largely considered an also-ran. They have largely only played in qualifiers, and they finished in fifth place at CS Summit 3. Avoid them here.
