If you’ve been in a Twitch chat lately, you’ve probably heard fans from the NA and the EU talking about Rift Rivals Blue. After years of arguments between fans of the two regions, Riot decided to settle scores by creating the Rift Rivals series. The top three North American teams will take on the top three European teams in a round robin format for regional supremacy. We are dead even through the first day of Rift Rivals Blue, but EU fans have a lot to smile about based on the performance of their top two teams. G2 and Fnatic are looking to lead the EU to Rift Rivals glory after NA won the inaugural title last year.

2018 League of Legends Rift Rivals Blue Betting Lines

Fnatic -111 Team Liquid -104

Through the first part of the EU Summer Split, Fnatic has earned a reputation for creative drafts. They have not been afraid to sub out their superstar AD Carry Rekkles in this meta, and that has led to them being able to get advantages on opponents in the draft phase. Yesterday that led to them getting a relatively win over Echo Fox in their first match, as sOAZ put up a great performance on Heimerdinger in a fluid lineup.

Meanwhile, Liquid only allowed Splyce to pick up one kill in an absolute stomp. In that game, Doublelift and Olleh crushed the bottom lane with Kai’Sa and Braum, and Splyce had no answer.

When Liquid wins it usually comes through the bottom lane, while Fnatic has proven it can win in a variety of ways. That gives Fnatic a big advantage here.

G2 -230 Echo Fox +190

In their first match, G2 looked great against 100 Thieves. G2 was just farming kills through the last 10 minutes of the match, bumping up their KDAs and instilling doubt in the Thieves with the performance. As with Fnatic, G2 used a unique composition to put itself in a great position to win, and they should do so again here.

This match will come down to how Damonte plays. He has been an academy player for much of his career, but he is very talented. He has had some problems controlling his anger at times though, and he is coming off of a five-match suspension for toxic behavior. Damonte will be going against one of the best mid laners ever in Perkz and will need to be on top of his game.

Fnatic -222 100 Thieves +182

Last week, 100 Thieves announced that Levi would be in their starting lineup for Rift Rivals. Thus, it probably wasn’t too much of a surprise that they had some cheese up their sleeves in their first match. They ran a funnel comp for Levi with Graves, but he was unable to really get going against G2. Now, they must face a team that is arguably more creative than them in Fnatic.

That being said, I think Fnatic will have a more standard composition in this one. Rekkles should be back in the lineup, and he might be prioritized in this bottom lane match-up.
G2 -140 Team Liquid +115

There’s a good chance that Europe could clinch the top spot in the Group Stage with a win here. However, Liquid might have just the answer in Pobelter and Doublelift. G2’s bottom lane doesn’t see a lot of legendary AD Carries in Europe, and Pobelter can keep Perkz in check. I see Liquid pulling off the upset here.

100 Thieves -150 Splyce +121

Splyce has looked like the worst team at Rift Rivals by a wide margin. They had an awful draft in their first match-up, making a number of curious selections, and they weren’t much better their second time around. 100 Thieves is a weaker team than either Echo Fox or Team Liquid, but they will still be able to push around Splyce.
