2018 League of Legends NA LCS Summer Split Week 7 Betting Preview

Team Liquid isn’t satisfied with just one NA LCS title this season. Liquid finally broke the curse by grabbing the Spring Split title earlier in the year, and now the team is looking for more. They are currently tied atop the NA LCS Summer Split standings with 100 Thieves at 8-4. A win for either team would give them sole possession of first place and put that team in the driver’s seat for the top spot in the NA LCS entering playoffs. That would be huge for either team as one of North America’s three World Championship seeds is determined by cumulative points acquired from finished in the Spring Split and the Summer Split.

2018 League of Legends NA LCS Summer Split Week 7 Betting Lines

Team Liquid -130 100 Thieves +110

For 100 Thieves to pull off the upset here, they will need two things. Ssumday will have to continue his impressive play in the top lane, and the bottom lane of Cody Sun and Aphromoo will need to hold their own against Doublelift and Olleh. The former should happen. Ssumday has a favorable matchup against Impact, who has been struggling lately. However, the latter might be a problem. 100 Thieves have been trying to prioritize the bottom lane by giving Cody Sun counterpicks, but that might not be an option against Liquid. I’ll go with Liquid for that reason.

Cloud9 -180 Clutch Gaming +150

Clutch is in disarray right now. The team is searching for answers and replaced their bottom lane and jungler last week in order to mix things up. The changes did not end up working out as the prioritized bottom lane of Ezreal and Tahm Kench fell flat in both matches. It’s back to the drawing board for Clutch, but there’s no reason to believe they will figure it out this week.

Conversely, Cloud9 seems to have figured it out after sitting at the bottom of the table two weeks ago. Zeyzal has grown as a support, and he is starting to develop a rapport with Sneaky. Sneaky’s Quinn pick in both matches last week was huge, and it will give Clutch and other teams something to think about this week. Cloud9 is the pick here.

Echo Fox -175 Counter Logic Gaming +140

There’s a lot being made of Echo Fox’s deadline changes. Echo Fox acquired Smoothie from Cloud9 to be their support, promoted Lost from their academy team, and made Damonte their permanent mid laner. Adding Smoothie is a definite improvement, but we don’t know yet whether the moves in the mid lane and at AD Carry are improvements or not. It’s going to take Smoothie some time to become the team’s new shotcaller too, so I’ll grab the underdog at this price.

FlyQuest -140 OpTic Gaming +120

OpTic is red hot. The team has won four straight matches coming into their match with FlyQuest, and they are looking to keep it going. PowerOfEvil continues to lead the way with his aggressive style, but the play of Dhokla over the past two games has been impressive. Dhokla is largely asked not to lose his lane while the game is won elsewhere, yet he proved he can hold his own last week with difficult assignments on Yorick and Fiona.

FlyQuest are lucky to be at 7-5. They largely aren’t outplaying teams, as they have the second-worst gold differential in the NA LCS. FlyQuest was able to win two base races in order to pick up wins in the last two weeks, but their good fortune will come to an end here.
E-sports Betting Bonus Team SoloMid -150 Golden Guardians +125

It was unthinkable at the start of the Summer Split, but TSM might really miss out on the postseason. The team’s chemistry woes have continued as Zven and mithy aren’t on the same page as the rest of the team, and the team is currently in ninth with a 5-7 record. Although I want to trust them against the Golden Guardians, Deftly has the best KDA in the league and I can’t back TSM at this price.
