2018 League of Legends NA LCS Summer Split Week 6 Betting Preview

2018-eSports-Bookmaker-Online-Betting-Odds

This may be the most competitive season of League of Legends we have ever seen in North America. There are just three games separating first place from last place, and we haven’t seen a dominant team emerge. The action will only heat up as we enter the final month of the regular season as teams vie for position. It’s possible to see the table completely flip on its head with how team is, and that is something to watch for over the next few weeks.

2018 League of Legends NA LCS Summer Split Week 6 Betting Lines

100 Thieves -150 Clutch Gaming +125
No team is as methodical as Clutch Gaming. Clutch are playing 40-minute games in a meta that is supposed to lead to faster play, and that makes the over something to watch in each of their games. The one adaptation I expect to see from Clutch this week is to not draft Jhin. Although the pick has worked in some regions, it fell flat in both games last week, with Jhin unable to deal the damage that other AD Carries can in the late game.

I expect Febiven to be on a strong champion in this game. He deferred to more team focused champions in the last two matches, but he has a favorable matchup in the mid lane against Ryu. Ryu is not as technically skilled as Febiven, and this is the one lane that Clutch can win. Solo is at a disadvantage against ssumday in the top lane, and I would give a slight edge to 100 Thieves’ bottom lane too.

Echo Fox -130 FlyQuest +110

It’s pretty wild to see FlyQuest tied at the top of the table at 6-4 even though they have a negative gold differential. According to Games of Legends, a great website for League of Legends statistics, FlyQuest have a -80 gold differential per minute. FlyQuest has been winning all of their toss-up games, but when they lose, they lose hard.

Keane has been the big difference maker this split. He is responsible for most of the team’s damage, and his play on Zoe has been great. I don’t expect to see Echo Fox allow Zoe to get through pick and ban as a result, requiring him to play a more team-focused champion in all likelihood. They will need to keep Keane away from power picks, as the mid lane play hasn’t been there for Echo Fox.

The team is about to undergo a major change too. ESPN’s Jacob Wolf is reporting that Echo Fox is about to release FeniX, Altec, and Adrian from their contracts. Altec has been the team’s AD Carry all split, but it appears that Echo Fox is set to play academy player Lost in that role for the rest of the season. Given all the turmoil for the favorites, I’ll be taking FlyQuest here.

Team Liquid -210 Golden Guardians +175

Golden Guardians have really turned things around this split. They were the worst team in North America in Spring, but they are currently sitting at 5-5 and looking good thanks to some solid play from AD Carry Deftly and mid laner Mickey. Mickey has rejuvenated his career since coming over to North America, playing with the same skill we saw in Korea as he slowly sheds the label of a toxic teammate. Deftly has the highest KDA in the region, and his skill on both Heimerdinger and Ezreal have led the team to success.

It’s been a roller coaster of a season for Spring Split champions Team Liquid. Liquid has seemed to take some opponents lightly heading into their matches, losing to the teams many believed would be at the bottom of the table this split. They lost to Golden Guardians in the first week of the split, but I think this is where their turnaround starts. Doublelift has been absurd on both Xayah and Kai’Sa, and he will lead them to victory on a scaling champion here.
E-sports Betting Bonus Counter Logic Gaming -170 OpTic Gaming +140

OpTic is feeling great right now. The team is coming off of their first 2-0 weekend in their short history, and they have found a bit of a rhythm. Unfortunately, CLG might be the worst team for them to face.

OpTic plays through mid laner PowerOfEvil, who is clearly the best player on the team. They are at their best when they play around him and ask him to carry, but he will be going against the most versatile mid laner in North America. Huhi has a bottomless champion pool, and although he won’t have the last pick, CLG will likely be able to deduce what type of champion PoE will be on during the second round of the draft. His job will be to neutralize his counterpart, and he will succeed.
