2018 League of Legends NA LCS Summer Split Week 2 Betting Preview

The big question heading into the second week of the NA LCS Summer Split revolves around Team SoloMid. Is TSM back? It certainly looks like they might be. TSM looked very good after an underwhelming spring, coming back to knock off rivals Counter Logic Gaming before thrashing FlyQuest to finish the week 2-0. They are starting to look like the team we expected at the start of the year, with great performances from the bottom lane of Zven and mithy. Bjergsen and Hauntzer have been solid as ever, so if the bottom lane can keep playing like this, it’s lights out for the rest of North America.

2018 League of Legends NA LCS Summer Split Week 2 Betting Odds

Team Liquid -168 Counter Logic Gaming +145

The defending champions got off to a 1-1 start in Week 1 and were upset by the team that was perceived to be the weakest in North America. Team Liquid rode Doublelift to a title in the spring, and now that we have seen teams succeed with normal AD Carries functioning in their familiar role, he should not be asked to play a champion like Vladimir again. Look for Doublelift to grab Ezreal, Xayah, or Lucien in this match and carry Liquid to victory.

Team SoloMid -215 Clutch Gaming +180

Following the first week of the season, TSM has three players that have at least a 20 KDA. Hauntzer has been fantastic in his top lane role, and he has been a rock for the team. However, the story through one week might be the play of new jungler Grig. Grig is replacing MikeYeung, and he has looked solid in two games. He picked up a number of kills on Olaf in his first game and set things up for his teammates on Trundle in the second game. Neither one of those champions is considered a top-tier jungler in this meta, and that’s a good sign for TSM.

Echo Fox -400 OpTic Gaming +315

As long as Echo Fox have Huni, they are going to be a threat to win the NA LCS. Huni looks like he is still the best top laner in the region by a mile, and he showed his versatility in the squad’s win over Clutch Gaming last week. He switched roles with Dardoch, taking Taliyah into the jungle and performing well on the champion in a duo role. That flexibility gives Echo Fox plenty of room to be creative, and they can cause fits for other teams in the draft.

100 Thieves -205 FlyQuest +175

Something has to give when the two winless teams face each other in this match. 100 Thieves did not look like they had a good read on the meta in their first week, and they were pummeled by CLG and Liquid in their two matches. Still, they performed better than FlyQuest, so I’m going to go with 100 Thieves to win here. Aphromoo is one of the best support players when it comes to shotcalling, and they will try to get to the team fighting stage and use that to their advantage.
Cloud9 Golden Guardians

It looks like Cloud9 will go into Week 2 without Sneaky, Jensen, and Smoothie once again. The veteran trio played in Cloud9’s academy match on Thursday night, and that means they probably won’t play this Saturday. That gives Golden Guardians a chance, and I’ll take them as an underdog after seeing how well Lourlo performed in the top lane against Liquid.
