2018 League of Legends NA LCS Summer Split Semifinals Betting Preview

2018 League of Legends Odds

There’s a lot of intrigue surrounding this weekend’s NA LCS Summer Split Semifinals’ matches. The winner of Saturday and Sunday’s matches will move on to Oakland where they will square off for the Summer Split Championship and one of North America’s three automatic qualifying spots at the World Championships.

On Saturday, the two most well-known North American teams will square off. Team SoloMid have historically got the better of Cloud9, but Cloud9 have been the more impressive team by a lot this split. Cloud9 will aim to reverse the recent course of their rivalry with a win here.

On Sunday, we will have a rematch of the NA LCS Spring Split Finals. Team Liquid swept 100 Thieves 3-0 back in April to win the NA LCS Spring Split title and grab a spot at the Mid-Season Invitational, and 100 Thieves would love to flip the script this time around. Whoever wins this series will punch their ticket to the World Championships too, due to total points acquired over the two splits.

2018 League of Legends NA LCS Summer Split Semifinals Betting Lines

Cloud9 -199 Team SoloMid +159

The rise of Cloud9 over the last month of the regular season was meteoric. Cloud9 won its last eight games to get into the postseason and grab the No. 2 seed, and they may be the hardest team in the region to scheme against due to their innovative strategies.

One of the things to note about Cloud9 is how evenly they distribute their gold. Top laner Licorice, mid laner Jensen, and AD Carry Sneaky all pick up between 22 and 23 percent of the team’s gold according to tracking website Games of Legends. That’s very uncommon in League of Legends, but it has helped them with their drafting and in the team fight phase.

Of course, TSM have continually got the better of Cloud9 in the postseason. However, this is not the same TSM we have seen in the past. TSM missed out on the finals for the first time ever in Spring, and the team has not had consistent play from either the jungle or the support position this split.

Cloud9 should pick up the win in this one, but watch the battle between Jensen and Bjergsen in the mid lane. Jensen can be emotional at times, and he knows that for once his is the stronger team. If he gets too aggressive against Bjergsen, that could backfire.

Team Liquid -262 100 Thieves +212

When these teams met in Spring, Liquid were able to corral 100 Thieves in the early game and take things over late due to some strong drafts with scaling champions. It will be interesting to see if 100 Thieves change their tactics this time around.

Liquid have the best AD Carry in North America in Doublelift. Doublelift was the star of the postseason in Spring, and he was just selected as the top player at his position this split too. However, 100 Thieves have the best shotcaller in the region in Aphromoo. Aphromoo has spent the entire year showing that Counter Logic Gaming’s problems weren’t on him, and he has shined with 100 Thieves.

The X-factor might be the match-up in the jungle. AnDa has been an average jungler during the Summer Split, but Xmithie has really shined. He has helped Pobelter in the mid lane a number of times, and he can effectively maintain his lanes while farming.
