It’s been a historic run for Cloud9. The two-time NA LCS champions rallied from a 3-7 start that saw them tied for last place to come back and win eight straight in order to make the playoffs. Their epic run gave them the second-best record at the end of the Summer Split, and they were able to knock off arch-rival Team SoloMid to advance to the final. Cloud9 is out to win its first NA LCS title since Spring 2014.
Meanwhile, it continues to be business as usual for Team Liquid. Liquid won their first-ever NA LCS title back in April, claiming the 2018 NA LCS Spring Split title, and now they are looking to repeat. They have already earned a spot at the World Championships due to points accumulated during the spring and summer, but they would love to draw level with Cloud9 and Counter Logic Gaming with their second domestic title.

2018 League of Legends NA LCS Summer Split Finals Betting Lines
Team Liquid -145 Cloud9 +125
To get to the final, Liquid had to get past 100 Thieves last week. Liquid was a comfortable favorite in the series, and they rewarded the oddsmakers with a relatively straightforward 3-1 victory. In the first game, 100 Thieves’ Ssumday dominated Impact in the top lane on Gangplank, posting an 11 KDA on the champion. From then on, Liquid responded by drafting or banning away Gangplank, and they forced Ssumday onto tanks as much as possible. That paid huge dividends, as 100 Thieves mustered just 14 total kills the rest of the way.
Cloud9 had an epic battle with Team SoloMid for the second spot in the finals last week. TSM looked like they would get the better of Cloud9 like they had so many times in the past after taking a 2-1 series lead, but then Cloud9 roared back to grab the win. Head coach Reapered has not shied away from tough decisions this season, and he made the call to replace Jensen with Goldenglue in the mid lane and Blaber with Svenskeren in the jungle. That paid off in a big way, with Cloud9 coming back to win the next two games and take the series.
Matchup to Watch
It will be interesting to see if Sneaky has any tricks up his sleeve in this one. Sneaky was the first to play Quinn in the AD Carry position in North America, and he has had a good deal of success with the champion. However, TSM found an answer to the side lane pressure that Quinn creates, and both of Cloud9’s losses came with Sneaky on the champion last week. Sneaky responded with great games on Kai’Sa and Varus, proving he could play the latter champion well despite not playing it in the regular season.
Sneaky will be going against the best AD Carry in the region in Doublelift. Doublelift has been a joy to watch all season, and he came up big against 100 Thieves last week. Although his initial Kai’Sa pick fell flat, he posted a 12.7 KDA and had very good outings on Jhin, Varus, and Ashe. Doublelift has traditionally gotten the better of Sneaky, but don’t be surprised if Sneaky pulls out another unseen pocket pick.
Prediction
I am going to trust the coaching staff of Cloud9 and back the dog here. Reapered has proven that he knows what he’s doing in this meta, and he has had an unfathomable amount of success with Cloud9 this season. He has a great top laner in Licorice, a very good support in Zeyzal, and fluidity elsewhere. He will come up with strategies that catch Liquid off guard and Cloud9 will win a tight one.
