2018 League of Legends LCK Summer Split Betting Preview

2018 eSports Coverage Article Two Bet Spreads

Following their dominance during the LCK Spring Split, Kingzone DragonX are favored to win the Summer Split as well. Kingzone have now won two straight LCK titles and will begin their quest for a three-peat in a little over a week. This team has made no changes to its roster, and it should be hungry after a very disappointing performance at the Mid-Season Invitational.

However, the most storied team in League of Legends history will be coming after them. SK Telecom T1 had their worst showing in quite some time during the spring, and the entire team knows they must do better in summer. They brought in some new faces in the offseason which should help matters.

2018 League of Legends LCK Korea Summer Split Betting Odds

Kingzone DragonX +170 SK Telecom T1 +425
KT Rolster +425 Afreeca Freecs +585
Gen.G +825 Griffin +2100
Hanwha Life Esports +2100 Jin Air Green Wings +2000
Team MVP +3000 BBQ Olivers +3300
There isn’t a team in Korea that has more talent than Kingzone. The team is loaded across the board and when they are firing on all cylinders, they are impossible to beat.

Unfortunately for Kingzone, that wasn’t what we saw at MSI though. Top laner Khan struggled mightily in match-ups he was supposed to dominate and AD Carry Pray was not at his best either. Both players should respond, yet you never know for sure until you see it hppen.

SK Telecom T1 is entering summer with a full roster for the first time in their history. SKT juggled three of their positions throughout spring, and they constantly switched out their top lane and support players. The hope is that more continuity will help this team improve their results. SKT has two stars in Faker and Bang, so they need to find the right complementary pieces.

Currently, KT Rolster has the same odds as SKT to win the Summer Split. KT’s mid laner UCal showed that he was one to keep an eye on in the future, but the team didn’t have consistent play from the jungle and Deft had one of the worst splits of his career. Deft seems focused and ready to once again be one of the best AD Carries in the world, and that makes KT a real threat.

Few expected the Afreeca Freecs to make it to the Grand Final in the Spring Split, but now teams are copying the Freecs. Afreeca was the first team to go to a 10-man roster and they credited the ability to do full in-house scrimmages as a big part of their success. They will now be looking to prove that their success wasn’t a fluke. Support TusiN had a fantastic spring, while Kuro was very solid in the mid lane. If Kramer can take a step forward, and the team gets better play out of Spirit and Mowgli in the jungle, this team could contend again.

Gen.G was one of two teams to rebrand in the offseason. The team formerly known as Samsung Galaxy and KSV Esports became Gen.G a few weeks ago, and they are hoping that will change their luck. These are the defending world champions, but they finished a disappointing fifth in spring. Gen.G added three players in the offseason, and it sounds like Fly and Mong might actually replace Crown and CuVee in the mid lane and top lane.
