2018 League of Legends EU LCS Week 4 Betting Preview

2018-eSports-Bookmaker-Online-Betting-Odds

After a week off for most teams because of Rift Rivals, the EU LCS gets back into action starting this Friday. Europe is feeling pretty good about itself as a region after besting North America to claim the Rift Rivals title, but you could argue that the best European team didn’t even take part in the event. Misfits are sitting at 6-0 and have looked exceptional through the first three weeks of the season. They will get a chance to prove that they are the best team in the EU when they take on 6-0 G2 in a battle of undefeated teams on Friday.

2018 League of Legends EU LCS Week 4 Betting Lines

FC Schalke 04 -190 Giants Gaming +160
It’s been an awful start to the split for Giants. They are sitting at 1-5 and they have arguable the worst jungler and worst bottom lane in the region. Djoko has not been able to find success on any champion, including power picks like Camille and Taliyah, and Steelback is not dealing enough damage as the team’s AD Carry. That has put a lot of pressure on Betsy to perform in the mid lane, but one player can only do so much.

Meanwhile, Schalke has only had good play from its bottom lane. Upset and Vander have been one of the better duos in Europe, and they each have looked very respectable in a meta that has seen the typical bottom lane strategies turned on their head. They will be the ones to lead Schalke to a victory here.

ROCCAT -135 Unicorns of Love +115

For a mid laner, Exileh dies an awful lot. Through six games Exileh has died 25 times, and all those deaths have put Unicorns of Love in a bad spot. While teams can play around losing top or bottom lanes, it’s much harder to play around a mid lane that is constantly being pushed in.

ROCCAT might be the most underrated team in Europe at the moment. None of their players have performed badly, and their three losses were all understandable. They have lost to G2, Schalke, and Splyce, and while they were stomped by the first two, they were very even with Splyce for most of the match. Profit has performed well on Vladimir in the top lane, and he cannot be allowed on the champion.

Team Vitality -260 H2K +210

This is the H2K that we were expecting to see in the spring. H2K was seen as the worst team in Europe prior to the Spring Split, but they were able to make it to the playoffs after a rough start. The team hasn’t been as fortunate this time. They are currently winless and have been unable to make multiple team compositions work.

Vitality has looked much better. Mid laner Jiizuke is getting focused on by opponents, but his teammates have been able to thrive in the meantime. Cabochard has been strong in the top lane, and Gilius has been performing great too. The jungler leads the team in KDA and has made Skarner work in this meta.

G2 -150 Misfits +125

The bottom lane has been the story for Misfits. Hans Sama has an absurd 21.5 KDA and has shined on a few different champions during the team’s run. He has yet to die on Draven, while his Lucian performances have been a treat to watch too. Misfits have built around their star, supplementing him with compositions that let him shine.

G2 has thrived off of funnel strategies in this meta. The team is frequently funneling everything into Perkz in the mid lane, and he has been able to carry them on champions like Lucian, Xayah, and Kai’Sa. With two weeks to prepare, I expect Misfits to have a strategy to deal with those funnel compositions leading to the underdog pulling off the upset.
Fnatic -230 Splyce +185

Splyce was the black sheep of Europe at Rift Rivals. While Fnatic and G2 both thrived against their North American counterparts, Splyce struggled much like they have all throughout the Summer Split. They have not been able to figure out how to succeed in this meta, and it’s hard to back them considering what we have seen out of them.
