The six playoff teams for the EU LCS Summer Split Playoffs have already been decided coming into the last week of the regular season. Even though seventh-place ROCCAT is just two games back of Splyce, ROCCAT has already lost both of its meetings with Splyce this season and cannot catch them on tiebreaker. That leaves only seeding to be determined in Week 9.
Splyce is essentially locked into sixth-place and a match-up against the third-place team next week, but the other five spots are all up for grabs. Fnatic currently is in line for the No. 1 seed at 12-4, yet there are three teams that are tied at 11-5 and they are looking to get the top spot too. That makes last week’s games very interesting.

Schalke 04 -500 H2K +333
No team has been hotter than Schalke over the past five weeks. Schalke is 9-1 over its last 10 matches, and it really is starting to feel like this is the Year of Nukeduck. Nukeduck has been very impressive in most of his matches and is capable of taking any champion. He has only been on one champion more than one time, and that versatility will come in handy.
H2K just wants this nightmare season to come to an end. At 1-15, the team is guaranteed to be in the relegation playoffs, and the players are just happy that they avoided going winless. Its best chance to pull off the upset is for Sheriff to outplay Upset in the bottom lane, but that is very unlikely.
Misfits -225 ROCCAT +162
It’s incredible that Misfits might really not get an automatic berth into the semifinals. This team started the split 9-0, but the squad has lost five of its last seven matches. It’s a bit concerning that Hans Sama has fallen off in recent weeks even though the meta has moved back to the conventional style he is more comfortable playing. ROCCAT is a live dog in this one, especially if Misfits cannot grab a top two seed by the time they meet.
Splyce -200 Giants Gaming +150
This match is likely to be a glorified exhibition. Splyce is virtually locked into the six seed, and Giants’ coach took to Twitter to say that his team will draft Teemo this week if he gets 10,000 retweets. Neither side is going to take this match too seriously, so I’ll go with the underdog at these odds. Splyce will not want to tip anything prior to playoffs and is unlikely to play any sort of composition it wants to use next week.
Fnatic -350 Unicorns of Love +250
This line is a little laughable. Fnatic’s Caps has totally dominated Unicorns’ Exileh in their head-to-head history, and he is likely to do again with a No. 1 seed in his team’s grasp. Caps knows that he can get Exileh on tilt with an early kill, and that would almost inevitably lead to a snowball in the mid lane. With that in mind, first blood for Fnatic is a great option too.
G2 -188 Team Vitality +137
There’s a decent chance that this match will be for an automatic berth into the semifinals. Once again, the battle in the mid lane is what you should keep an eye on in this one. However, it’s a lot more evenly matched between Perkz and Jiizuke, especially with Kikis now in the jungle for Vitality instead of Gilius. Vitality is a very live dog.
