2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Week 8 Lines

The race for the EU LCS Summer Split title is wide open after some major upsets last week. Misfits had a hammerlock on the top spot in the region entering playoffs after starting the split 9-0, but three straight losses have thrown that out the window. Coming into the penultimate week of the regular season, Misfits and Fnatic are tied at the top of the standings at 10-4, with G2, FC Schalke 04, and Team Vitality right behind them at 9-5. Those teams are vying for the two direct byes into the semifinals, and they can’t afford losses in that quest.

2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Week 8 Betting Lines

Misfits -422 H2K +321

The concerning part for Misfits isn’t necessarily their losses, but who the losses came against and where they are in the season. Losing to Schalke is one thing considering how the team has come on over the last few weeks, but losses to Splyce and Giants Gaming are head scratchers. As teams are moving back towards standard metas and away from some of the crazier strategies we saw earlier in the season, Misfits have been left wanting.

A loss against H2K would be incredibly troubling heading into playoffs. H2K are one of the worst teams we have ever seen in the EU LCS, losing 13 straight matches before finally picking up a win last week against Splyce.

Fnatic -340 Giants Gaming +260

Over the last two weeks of the regular season, the big question for Fnatic will be whether or not Rekkles returns to the lineup. Fnatic bought into the new metas more than any other team in the EU LCS, and they have been the last team to move back to something more standard. The team continues to use Bwipo in the bottom lane instead of your typical AD Carry, and that has left Rekkles on the sidelines. If he returns, that will be a sign that Fnatic is shifting back to something more traditional.

Giants Gaming are looking to avoid a potential relegation battle. The team is trying to outlast Unicorns of Love and ROCCAT in order to play in the EU LCS in 2019. To that effect, they have pulled off some impressive upsets over the last few weeks, beating G2 and Misfits. The key to this team is the play of Djoko. If he can get on a good champion and play well, Giants could pull off the upset.

Splyce -150 ROCCAT +120

This might be the most important match of the day. One of these two teams is likely to grab the last playoff spot in the EU LCS as Splyce is currently at 7-7, while ROCCAT is sitting at 6-8. Splyce is the favorite largely due to their third-place finish last split, but this team has been incredibly hit or miss in the Summer Split. These two teams played an incredibly close match at the end of the third week, so I’ll take my chances with the underdog.
E-sports Betting Bonus G2 -300 Unicorns of Love +240

G2’s best success has come with Perkz on a hypercarry and Hjarnan playing Heimerdinger in the AD Carry position. As those things are falling out of favor, they have struggled to find consistency. G2 have lost five of their last eight matches, and a loss here would likely spell an end to their hopes of a first-round bye. Look for Perkz to take a power pick into the mid lane in order to dominate Exileh like he has over the course of his career.
