2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Week 7 Betting Preview

2018-eSports-Online-Betting-Bookmaker-Odds

Unlike what we saw in the Spring Split, there is a clear tier list in European League of Legends for the Summer Split. The top tier is what we were expecting in some order back in January. Misfits, G2, and Fnatic have proven that they are the three best teams in the EU, with Misfits ahead of the other two teams by two games. They have the inside track for the overall No. 1 seed for the postseason, and anything other than a first-round bye would be a disappointment at this point.

The second tier is more crowded with somewhat proven commodities like Splyce and Team Vitality paired with up and comers ROCCAT and FC Schalke 04. Splyce and Vitality were great in the Spring, but both teams have had trouble matching that performance this split. Meanwhile, Schalke and ROCCAT have turned some heads with their play.
At the bottom of the EU are Giants Gaming, Unicorns of Love, and H2K. Those were thought by many to be the three worst teams in the top tier of EU League of Legends in January, and that has been the case this split.

2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Week 7 Betting Lines

ROCCAT -230 H2K +195
There’s no way to be nice about H2K’s performance. They have been one of the worst teams we have seen in a long time, and if they can’t win here there’s a chance they don’t pick up a win all split. The organization is 0-10, and many of their matches haven’t been close. SmittyJ has been unable to do much in the top lane, while Sheriff no longer looks like a promising, young AD Carry. Selfie has had to try to carry in the mid lane, but that hasn’t really worked. ROCCAT has really looked strong the last couple weeks, so take them in this match.

Misfits -400 Unicorns of Love +305

You don’t see a favorite this big in the EU very often, but Misfits deserve it. Unicorns of Love have been very hit or miss this season, with mid laner Exileh being plenty of miss. He has left himself open to ganks too often, and he continues to die far too much as a result. Misfits’ Sencux has been one of the top mid laners in Europe this season, and he should be able to exploit Exileh in lane.

Team Vitality -225 Giants Gaming +190

Opponents have begun to focus on mid laner Jiizuke, and that has really hurt Vitality this split. He was able to take over matches with his 1v1 outplays in Spring, but opposing teams have adapted to prevent that from happening. He has been bottled up a number of times, and that has put the pressure on his teammates to step up. To be fair to Vitality, this team looks like it slowly learning how to play like a more conventional team, and that might be better in the long run. However, it makes them susceptible in the short run and I will back Giants here.

Fnatic -230 FC Schalke 04 +180

There’s a lot of buzz surrounding Schalke after four straight wins, but the team has not been able to beat good teams. They lost their first round-robin matches to G2, Fnatic, Misfits, and Vitality, and in most cases they were soundly beaten. Schalke has been playing well recently, and their bottom lane appears to be having a breakout campaign. It’s hard to trust them until they prove they can beat a top team though. Back Fnatic in this match.
E-sports Betting Bonus G2 -195 Splyce +165

Look for G2 to prevent Nisqy from playing Zoe this week. Nisqy has a 14 KDA in five games on the champion, and he has led Splyce to four of their five victories while playing her. He has been much more pedestrian on other characters with a 1.5 or less KDA on four of the other five champions he has played in the Summer Split. Meanwhile, Odoamne continues to struggle in the top lane, and Wunder will be able to take full advantage. I think G2 is the strongest team to bet this week.
