2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Week 5 Betting Preview

It’s the midway point of the season, and the story of the Summer Split thus far is Misfits. Misfits have wiped the slate clean after a very disappointing Spring Split and are currently 8-0. They are two games in front of G2 and with one more victory will have more wins than they had in spring. AD Carry Hans Sama is currently the frontrunner to be Summer Split MVP with an 11.7 KDA as well. They can essentially punch their ticket to playoffs with two more wins this week.

2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Week 5 Betting Lines

Team Vitality -125 Splyce +105
It’s been a really disappointing split for Splyce. Splyce finished in third place in Spring, but they are currently sitting at 3-5 and were the black sheep of Europe at Rift Rivals. They were able to get a clutch win against Fnatic last week, but a loss to Schalke in their next game represented the one step forward and two steps back that has defined their season. Incredibly, top laner Odoamne has done more damage than anyone on the team, but that is likely to change as Aatrox gets permanently banned after the hot fixes. He will get focused down on in a Vitality win.

Giants Gaming -135 H2K +110

These are the two worst teams in the EU LCS, and H2K is still in search of its first win. H2K has been largely uncompetitive this split, and a lot of that has to do with their bottom lane. Sheriff has been unable to adapt to a meta where traditional AD Carries have been asked to change up their strategies, and that has cost H2K, especially in the late game. Selfie has done his best in the mid lane, but it’s hard to rely on H2K. Go with Giants to get the job done here.

Schalke 04 -160 Unicorns of Love +130

Is this finally the start of something big for Schalke? Schalke has shown plenty of potential over the last two splits. Nukeduck and Upset have been seen as up and comers for some time now, and Schalke went 2-0 against Splyce and Giants last week. Nukeduck should be able to have the advantage against Exileh in the mid lane, while Upset and Vander control the bottom lane for Schalke. The best bet in this match may be the under in terms of game length though. UOL is notorious for playing fast games as their compositions either work extremely well or spectacularly blow up in the early game. Their average game time this split is 28 and a half minutes.

G2 -260 ROCCAT +210

The former Kings of Europe are looking for answers after an 0-2 week. A loss to Misfits wasn’t unexpected but losing to Giants was a big surprise. Many will attribute that loss to the team gearing up for Rift Rivals and traveling there and back, but a loss is a loss. It will be interesting to see what the strategy is this week. G2 has run a funnel comp for Perkz in half of their games and has relied on Aatrox a lot. This could be a really good time to take ROCCAT.
E-sports Betting Bonus Misfits -185 Fnatic +155

Much like G2, Fnatic struggled last week. They looked woeful in a loss to Splyce, and this might finally be the sign to bring Rekkles back into the lineup. Misfits has played mostly standard compositions during this meta, and Rekkles might be able to outduel Hans Sama in an old school ADC vs ADC match-up. Take Fnatic as an underdog here.
