2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Week 2 Day 2 Betting Preview

eSports-2018-Bookmaker-Online-Betting-Odds

The story of the first week of the EU LCS Summer Split was Misfits. Misfits looked out to prove that their performance in spring was an aberration. They were seen as one of the top teams in Europe at the start of the year, but they missed out on the playoffs after finishing 8-10.

Misfits looked like the team we had been expecting in their victories over Fnatic and FC Schalke 04. They crushed Fnatic in their first match thanks to a dominant performance from Hans Sama on Draven, and they followed that up with a quick 23 minute victory over Unicorns of Love the next day. Misfits are sitting at 2-0 now and might be the team to beat this split.

2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Week 2 Day 2 Betting Lines

FC Schalke 04 -160 ROCCAT +135

One of the teams that experts were torn about coming into the Summer Split was Schalke. If Nukeduck and Upset could improve on their performance in the spring, the thought was this could be one of the most surprising teams in the region.

Schalke was able to erase a 4k gold deficit in their match against Unicorns of Love to get a victory thanks to both of those players. Nukeduck performed well on a surprise pick, taking Kayle into the mid lane to face Yasuo, and Upset did 35 percent of the team’s damage on Ezreal. They would have started 2-0, but they blew an 8k gold lead against Fnatic in their next match and are instead sitting at 1-1. I expect them to pick up a win here.

Misfits -233 Giants Gaming +193

Giants Gaming are 1-1, but they did not look very sharp in the first week. Top laner Ruin and jungler Djoko have two of the worst KDAs in the region, and neither player seems to have grown much from spring. Djoko’s struggles are especially hard-hitting in the current meta, and he is going to have a hard time against an experienced jungler like Maxlore. Misfits should win this game in under 20 minutes.

G2 -211 H2K +176

There was a lot of buzz surrounding H2K coming into the Summer Split based on how they closed out the spring. Many saw them as a playoff team, but they are staring down the barrel of an 0-3 start. They did not look like they had a good read on the meta with two head-scratching drafts against Giants and ROCCAT, and it’s hard to see them getting a win against a powerhouse in G2. Their best hope in this one is to draft a cheese composition and hope for the best.

Splyce -193 Unicorns of Love +162

After an 0-2 start, Splyce are in need of a win. They were crushed in their first two games, but they were playing two of the other top teams in the EU. Top laner Odoamne is off to another slow start. He was terrible at the beginning of spring and it’s looking to be the same in summer considering his woeful performances on tanks thus far. He already has 10 deaths this split, and that’s an alarming number considering he played Cho’Gath and Ornn. His play is the main reason why I’m going to call for the upset and back UoL here.
Fnatic -140 Team Vitality +115

Will Rekkles be able to actually play his position this week? In both of their Week 1 match-ups, Fnatic employed a strategy of funneling all their resources into Caps and allowing him to carry. They split those two games, and it will be curious to see whether or not they run that strategy again now that the EU LCS is using Patch 8.12.
