2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Betting Preview

2018 eSports Coverage Betting Spreads Online

After a couple months away from the rift for all but the regional champions, we are back in action this week. Ten teams are vying for European glory in the Summer Split, and eight of those are looking to win their first titles.

Fnatic won five of the first six European titles, and they established themselves as a dynasty in that time. However, G2 responded by grabbing all four titles in 2016 and 2017. These two powerhouses met in the Spring Split Final with Fnatic winning it all and re-establishing themselves as the team to beat. Those two teams are the two favorites heading into the Summer Split, while every other team is looking to establish their own legacy.

2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Betting Odds

Fnatic +120 G2 Esports +415
Splyce +625 Team Vitality +950
H2K +1150 Misfits +1150
FC Schalke 04 +1750 ROCCAT +2600

It was clear that Fnatic was the cream of the crop in Europe early on during the spring. They cruised to the top spot in the regular season, and they only dropped one game in the postseason on their way to the title.

Fnatic are the logical favorites once again. They have two superstars in mid laner Caps and AD Carry Rekkles, and top laner Bwipo emerged as one to watch too. However, they may struggle early on. The early game has been emphasized in the most recent patches, and Fnatic’s strategy last split largely revolved around Rekkles taking over in the late game. With almost all of his champion pool de-prioritized, this team is more vulnerable than you might think.

G2 made it to the final in spring, and they are hopeful that some time together will take them back to the promised land. There were some growing pains when it came to their chemistry and performance in team fights, but they looked very good in the early game. That should help them out immensely in the early metas.

In particular, G2 needs its bottom lane to continue to grow. AD Carry Hjarnan and Support Wadid were largely solid, but they made some unfortunate mistakes at key times during spring.

Splyce were one of the most up and down teams in the spring. The highs for this team were really high. Xerxe was able to make a real impact in the jungle, and Odoamne came on strong after a really poor start to the season. Yet, the bottom lane was more disappointing than anyone expected. Kobbe and Kasing are a seasoned duo, and many observers believed they would be the second-best bottom lane in spring. However, that failed to happen and their performance in the playoffs left something to be desired.

Many are excited about Vitality heading into this split. Jiizuke was the Rookie of the Split in spring and gave us some awesome performances, while Cabochard and Minitroupax played very well too. Minitroupax has renamed himself Attila, and he will be one to keep an eye on in the role of AD Carry.

If you’re looking for some longshots this split, take a look at Misfits and Schalke. Misfits had a very disappointing spring, failing to make the playoffs, but the talent is there. As for Schalke, there is a lot of buzz about AD Carry Upset. He was a rookie last split and put on some impressive performances. There is a lot of intrigue about Amazing as well, who will be returning to the professional scene after being an analyst last split.
