2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Betting Preview

2018 eSports Coverage Predictions Online

After winning the Spring Split, Fnatic is the team to beat heading into the EU LCS Summer Split. Fnatic was the best team in the regular season and dropped just one game in the playoffs. They were fantastic in the mid and late game, and AD Carry Rekkles had one of the best splits of his career. He only played a handful of champions, but he was fantastic on Tristana and a couple others. Other teams are going to have a hard time getting past them this summer.

2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Betting Odds

Fnatic +125 G2 Esports +450
Splyce +650 Team Vitality +1000
H2K +1200 Misfits +1200
Schalke 04 +2000 Giants Gaming +2500
ROCCAT +2500 Unicorns of Love +3300

Fnatic had the experience and chemistry edge heading into spring. Their roster had not been touched in the offseason, and they even improved by adding Hylissang from Unicorns of Love. Mid laner Caps has been sharp after struggling at the end of last year, and he was the team’s best player at the Mid-Season Invitational. It will be interesting to see who the team takes into the top lane. Soaz has been the starter for some time, but it looks like Bwipo may have supplanted him after some good performances at MSI.

Getting some extra time to come together should make G2 better in the summer. The organization lost four of its five starters prior to the start of the year, and the replacements had their ups and downs. In particular, the bottom lane struggled at times, and the duo of Wadid and Hjarnan needs to improve if G2 are to claim another European crown. They looked very good in the early game during spring, but they didn’t always make the best decisions in the mid game.

With the new changes for junglers, there is going to be a lot of trial and error. Luckily for Splyce, they have one of the region’s best in Xerxe. Like many other junglers, Xerxe is not a fan of the major changes in the early game for junglers. However, he is one of the quicker ones to recognize and adapt to the meta, so that should give Splyce an advantage early on. The team will also need Odoamne to improve after a rough spring. He should have been one of the better top laners in Europe, and instead he was a liability.

The People’s Champions during spring were Vitality. Jizzuke won over thousands of hearts with his fantastic outplays in the mid lane, and he has quickly established himself as one of the best mid laners in Europe. The bottom lane and the top lane were solid as well, with the team’s only weakness being in the jungle. There should be a good deal of improvement this summer as Vitality’s roster continues to learn.

If you’re looking for longshots to back, there are a couple that are worth some coin. Misfits should be improved after a disastrous spring that saw them miss out on the postseason. This team is just too good to miss out once more. Also, Unicorns of Love is the longest shot on the board, but they have a better chance than you think. There is plenty of parity in Europe, as we saw last split when no team had been eliminated coming into the last week. Taking a shot in the dark at a team with 33-1 odds isn’t a bad idea.
