Four teams are competing for a spot in the EU LCS Summer Split Finals in Madrid this weekend with an eventual automatic berth into the World Championships on the line. Schalke were pushed to the brink by a game Splyce team in the quarterfinals, but they eventually got the job done in the decisive fifth game. Upset led the way on Kai’Sa, grabbing seven of Schalke’s 10 kills once the champion came online in the win. The other Quarterfinals match saw an upset of its own when Misfits swept G2 3-0. It was a stunning result as Misfits had lost seven of their last nine games prior to the start of the postseason. Now, let’s look at this week’s matches.

2018 League of Legends EU LCS Summer Split Semifinals Betting Lines
Team Vitality -190 FC Schalke 04 +155
Vitality won their way into the semifinals during the final weekend of the season. They knocked off Misfits, Schalke, and G2 (twice) in order to grab the No. 2 seed, and they are full of confidence after those victories.
The play of Kikis has been instrumental to Vitality’s turnaround. Kikis replaced Gilius in the jungle, and Vitality are 9-1 since making the change. Kikis posted a 7.3 KDA in the regular season, and his Trundle play was out of this world. He claimed a 14.5 KDA in four games on the champion, so don’t be surprised if Schalke ban it out.
Kikis has a major advantage over his counterpart Amazing in this one. Amazing posted the worst KDA of any player taking part in last week’s quarterfinals, and he was continually outclassed by Splyce’s Xerxe. Xerxe nearly led Splyce to the upset victory last week, but Schalke’s bottom lane eventually saved the day. That is unlikely to happen again though if Amazing continues to struggle.
Attila and Jactroll are a very good bottom lane, and they can play even with Upset and Vander. The battle in the mid lane between Jiizuke and Nukeduck will probably be pretty even too, putting a lot of pressure on Amazing in the jungle. I think he will play better this series, but it won’t be enough.
Fnatic -247 Misfits +198
I was simply floored with Misfits sweep of G2 last week. I didn’t think Misfits stood much of a chance, but they outdrafted and outplayed G2 in all three of their games. Some of the surprising picks, like Sencux’s Twisted Fate in Game 1 and Maxlore’s Poppy in Game 3 will give Fnatic something to think about too.
Of course, the star in Misfits’ victories was Hans Sama. He has been their bell cow throughout the season, and the team is it at its best when they play through him in the bottom lane. He continually tipped the balance in team fights, but it will be difficult for him to do so again versus Fnatic.
Fnatic have the best AD Carry in Europe in Rekkles, and he is out to prove himself after being sidelined for a considerable amount of time during the regular season. Rekkles looked fine on both Ezreal and Xayah to close out the regular season, but champion pool depth was a concern for him in the Spring Split. It will be interesting to see how Misfits attack him.
The battle in the bottom lane will get a deserved amount of attention, but the mid lane is where the game will be won. Caps has been masterful in the mid lane for Fnatic this season, and Sencux will have a tough time against him. Look for Caps to take advantage of his counterpart and lead Fnatic to a win.
