Fight Preview

For his part Naoya Inoue is eager to matchup against one of the legends of the ring.

"I can't wait for the final," Inoue said. "Donaire is to me a legend in the sport of boxing, and I am honored to be sharing the ring with him in the final. But I will do my very best to win against the legend to claim the Ali Trophy."

Inoue has been pleased with his training and preparation heading into this championship fight.

"I have been training in a more circumspectly satisfactory way. My weight loss is going smoothly without any problems and I am in better physical shape without any ups and downs in the condition of my body. Now I am 4 kilograms above the limit. I am planning to lower my body weight gradually and in a reasonable way."

Although Inoue is celebrated for his knockout prowess, he may be more conservative against Donaire.

"In my fight with Nonito Donaire, I do not darepursue a knockoutvictory, but, basically, I am going to win bya widedecision by doing smart boxing, and in every round, I'll finddifferent way of strategy to reach the twelfth round," Inoue said.

"I am notfocused onwinning byKO, but I have an image of being victorious through a decision, I understand more than enough that Nonito Donaire is a great boxer with the highest level of boxing IQ, whom I can't knock out with desire alone. I have to resort to my intelligence inside the ring so that I'll be able to defeat him. But, I will tell you that I'll throw myself into the fight with everything in search of landing that one punch that will give me the chance to end Donaire."

As for Donaire he will rely on his experience to prevail against Inoue.

"I am looking forward to the final in Japan and a great fight," Donaire said. "I have fought several world champions, and I will come well prepared. Inoue is an amazing fighter, but I saw flaws in his semifinal, and I think I can definitely create a game plan against him and win the Ali Trophy."
