NBA Saturday, March 11 Parlay Picks

It’s not easy to hit NBA parlays, and I’m still looking to claim my first win after the All-Star Break. I went 1-1 on my Wednesday night Parlay, hitting with the Cleveland Cavaliers but missing with the Toronto Raptors.

Hopefully, I can finally cash one of these over the weekend as there is a rather big slate to choose from with ten games on the schedule.

The last week-plus has been tough for the Memphis Grizzlies. Franchise superstar Ja Morant has had some legal issues, and he was suspended by the team for several games after flashing a gun in a strip club on his personal Instagram. That means Morant will be out for this game, but Memphis seems to relish the role of being a plucky underdog.

Memphis has lost three straight road games, but the Grizzlies will get to play at home against Golden State on Thursday and Dallas on Saturday. They have an excellent 26-5 record on their home court, while the Mavericks are just 12-20 outside of the Metroplex.

Although Morant will be out for this game, Desmond Bane is back in the lineup for the Grizzlies, and they still have Dillon Brooks and Jaren Jackson Jr. That’s a decent amount of firepower, and Luke Kennard is a very underrated player off the bench. We could see Steven Adams return for this game, and that would be a huge boost for Memphis.

Dallas took a big gamble by trading for Kyrie Irving in a bid to give Luka Doncic a second superstar to play off of over the last couple months. Doncic is phenomenal and has already shed the “soft” label that seems to follow many Europeans around, but he doesn’t have a lot of synergy with Irving. To make matters worse, Doncic injured his thigh against New Orleans on Wednesday night, and it sounds like he will miss some time due to injury.

At the start of the season, the New Orleans Pelicans were one of the most celebrated teams in the NBA. They were 23-12 a day before New Year’s Eve, but they are 9-22 since that point and may miss out on the play-in tournament entirely. Zion Williamson is out for at least another couple weeks because of a bad hamstring, while Brandon Ingram is listed as day-to-day.

The absence of Williamson and Ingram is a huge deal, but Ingram could be on the floor for this game. C.J. McCollum and Jonas Valanciunas have played well in their absence, yet they are better suited as role players than as superstars.

As for Oklahoma City, the Thunder are 0-3 against the Pelicans so far this season. They have caught quite a few teams off-guard, but they just don’t have the talent yet to thrive at this time of year. Oklahoma City’s breakout superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is dealing with some injuries, and he has only played in three games since the All-Star Break. There just isn’t another player that can carry the Thunder if Gilgeous-Alexander is out, as Josh Giddey, Luguentz Dort, and Jalen Williams are all still developing.
