NBA Friday, November 3 Parlay Picks

We’re just a week into the 2023-24 NBA season and already there’s been a huge shakeup. It was a given that James Harden wasn’t going to play for the Philadelphia 76ers after remarks he made regarding the team’s GM. And both parties got their wish with Harden shipped to the LA Clippers for a handful of players and draft picks. Unfortunately neither team is in action on Friday, November 3, so we’ll have to look elsewhere for our NBA parlay picks with seven games to choose from. The Bucks play at home for the fourth time in their first five games when they entertain the New York Knicks. In what is expected to be a crowded top of the Eastern Conference, taking care of business is a big deal.

The defending champion Nuggets picked up right where they left off winning their first four games. Denver hosts Luka Doncic and the Mavs on Friday in the first of a four-game homestand. The Nuggets were the best home team in the NBA last season winning 84.6 percent of their games including playoffs with the third-best cover ratio at 60.8 percent. With plenty of uncertainty around the NBA I actually had a decent opener on my first Friday parlay missing out on three-team winner by half a point. I backed the Celtics at -8.5 for their home tilt with Miami only to see them win 119-111.

I don’t expect Damian Lillard to shoot 2 of 12 from the field like he did in a loss to the Hawks last week. And I know the Bucks didn’t give up a bundle for that kind of production, or lack thereof. As the season progresses I can see Milwaukee becoming a more cohesive unit incorporating Dame with Giannis and all the other pieces. And there are plenty of good ones. There were some hiccups at the start with a narrow win over Brooklyn in the opener followed by the 17-point setback to Atlanta. The Bucks regrouped, though, with a win and cover over Miami with the stars cementing the victory. Giannis scored 33 points and Lillard had 25 on 7 of 14 shooting. The complementary pieces did their job and the Bucks had a blueprint for their season-long success.

The Western Conference matchup between Denver and Dallas should be a good one with the collection of talent assembled. Nikola Jokic is just unstoppable even when you know what’s coming, which is why he’s a two-time MVP. It was just another ho-hum night for him with 27 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a win over Utah that extended Denver’s season opening winning streak to four games. And as noted above the Nuggets are nearly unbeatable at home.

With most prognosticators picking the Warriors to finish off the pace in the Western Conference, Steph Curry took it personally. The sharpshooter has been as good as ever to start the season with the Dubs winning two straight after an opening night loss to Phoenix. Curry is among the league leaders averaging 33.5 points and OKC ranks among the top 10 in shooting. The last meeting between the clubs resulted in a 136-125 GSW victory and we could see more of the same to back the OVER.
