NBA Friday, March 31 Parlay Picks

Let’s just say I wasn’t at my best last week with the NBA parlay picks. On my six total wagers I won just twice and needless to say that won’t get it done. It’s hard enough winning a single NBA wager let alone a multi-team parlay, but when it happens it’s worth it since sportsbooks offer sweet odds. There is time remaining on the NBA slate to pick up the pace and hit another winner and that’s what I intend to do. With payouts in nearly 60 percent of their games the Oklahoma City Thunder have the best cover rate in the NBA. They are also battling for a postseason berth in the Western Conference making their tilt with Indiana pivotal for their chances. Golden State has the best home cover percentage and will be a massive favorite for their matchup with the hapless San Antonio Spurs. Nine of the top 10 teams in the West and eight of the top 10 in the East are in action on Friday, March 31 with plenty of betting options available for the NBA parlay card.

I guess the question is where to begin. Given their numbers outlined in the opener backing OKC and Golden State is a start. But the Thunder have struggled on the road recently and the Dubs will be a massive home favorite against the Spurs. However, a deeper dive suggests the Warriors are a solid bet. They’ve absolutely destroyed Pop’s group in two previous meetings winning each by more than 30 points, and with the Warriors such a strong play at home I’ll back them despite laying a bunch of points.

The Warriors shot 53 percent and hit 23 triples shredding San Antonio’s NBA worst defense in a 132-95 triumph in November. We saw more of the same in mid-January with the Dubs sinking 54 percent with 18 threes in a 144-113 rout. Hell, even if Steph Curry and his mates have an off night shooting the ball the Warriors can win by double figures making them a pick on my NBA parlay.

Schedule makers didn’t do the Nuggets any favors to close out the month of March. After hosting New Orleans on Thursday, the Nugs travel to the Arizona desert for a contest with Phoenix on Friday night. Denver holds a slight edge for first overall in the West and I doubt they’ll do anything stupid. Winning of course is the goal, but staying healthy for a deep playoff run is the long term strategy. Playing against desperate teams on consecutive nights isn’t easy and the second one is the toughest. When playing the second game of a back to back on the road the Nugs are just 1-5 in their last six making the Suns a smart pick on the parlay card.

In what could be a potential first round playoff matchup in the East, the Knickerbockers visit Cleveland. Playing as a home dog in the previous two meetings New York won both game outright. However, the Cavs are a different team at home with their 30 wins the most in the Eastern Conference. They also have the second best home cover rate in the NBA and destroyed New York 121-108 in the first matchup in Cleveland. And to avoid any possibility of the Knicks catching them while also sending a message, the Cavs will cover.
