NBA Parlay Picks for Friday, April 5, 2024

NBA Friday, April 5, 2024 Parlay Picks

We’re running out of time in the regular season to cash a NBA parlay so we better make the most of the 12-game schedule for Friday, April 5. Only one race remains to see which teams make the top 10 and that’s in the Western Conference with the surging Houston Rockets trying to catch Golden State. And it just so happens that both teams are in action with the Warriors visiting Dallas and the Rockets entertaining Miami. We have a clear idea of which teams will compete beyond the conclusion of the regular we just don’t know where and against whom. With a few games separating teams from the top six and the play-in tournament added emphasis is put on the outcomes in the final days of the season.

The Boston Celtics clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference last week so you have to wonder just how motivated they will be in their matchup against the Sacramento Kings. The Cs dropped consecutive games to a desperate Atlanta team last week, and while the Kings are guaranteed a top 10 they still have a chance to reach the top 6 in the West. They also have the third best road cover rate in the NBA cashing in 61.1 percent of their games. That game is part of a NBA TV doubleheader starting at 7:30 p.m. ET. The nightcap is a West showdown between Minnesota and Phoenix with the Wolves still battling for the No. 1 seed.

After hitting a three-team parlay two weeks ago I got greedy and went with a four-teamer last week. The betting Gods shot me down big time as I went ohfer on my picks. I’ll be more humble this time around as I look to regroup with the regular season quickly coming to close. All I can say is that after five months of closely watching games, digesting stats and absorbing player information, it’s still a crapshoot when betting NBA parlays.

I’ve backed Orlando a number of times on my NBA parlays this season and for good reason. The Magic are not only 13 games over .500 following wins over Memphis and Portland, they are also the most profitable team in the NBA with payouts in 64 percent of their games. And they’ve had their way with Charlotte this season winning the first three matchups by an average of 15 points and covering the spread each time. They haven’t been as good on the road but the Magic are better than the Hornets.

There’s a fine line between resting players and trying to maintain a competitive edge. The Celtics are straddling that line ahead of the postseason. They clinched the East and have bigger things in view so I don’t think regulars will take too much time off. That’s bad news for the Kings who already got plastered by Boston back in December. And losing twice to Atlanta last week was a wakeup call leaving the Celtics hungry to continue their dominance ahead of the playoffs. I’m a little hesitant but I’m backing the Celtics to cover the spread at home where they are 32-3 SU and 20-15 ATS.

The Warriors and Mavericks will get quite familiar with each other at the end of the season playing twice in a three-day span. One of those is a makeup from a postponed encounter earlier in the season following the passing of a Warriors assistant coach. One thing you can expect is a free-flowing game with two efficient offenses at work. Behind Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving the Mavs stopped Houston’s 10-game winning streak on Sunday extending their own run to seven in a row. Doncic has had some epic performances against the Warriors helping the teams cash the OVER in seven of the previous 10 meetings. And I like the offense to take center stage in this one with another OVER winner.
