NBA Odds - No. 2 Golden State Warriors vs. No. 7 San Antonio Spurs Game 2 Preview

Monday-NBA-Playoff-Matchup-bm-4-16

The Golden State Warriors may have had their issues down the stretch of the regular season, dealing with injuries and uncharacteristic losses, but they found vintage form with the playoffs opening. The Warriors dominated the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of their first round matchup and look like they will cruise to the series victory.

Golden State will aim for another easy victory when the teams face off again in Game 2. The Warriors are at home once again and will be sizable favorites. The Spurs need to figure out some plan that can keep them close, but it’s such a hard task against a team as talented as the Warriors.

Even without Stephen Curry, Golden State looked at the top of its game last time out in NBA basketball gambling.

Game 2 of this NBA Playoff Series is on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 8 p.m. ET at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The contest will be nationally televised on TNT.

We'll have NBA odds at BookMaker.eu available for every game of the 2018 NBA Playoffs.

Odds Analysis

Golden State is listed as the 9.5-point favorite in Game 2 after easily covering in the first game. More than 55 percent of the action is on the Warriors to cover the spread.

The scoring total is listed at 205.5 points. The Warriors were able to put up points in Game 1 but the Spurs had trouble scoring. That could be the case once again this time. The “under” is the more popular choice with gamblers.

The Warriors are listed as heavy -600 favorites to win Game 2, as the oddsmakers don’t see the Spurs putting up a serious fight. San Antonio is the +447 underdog.

Last Time Out

Despite being without one of their biggest stars in Curry, the Warriors rolled to a 113-92 win over the Spurs in Game 1. Klay Thompson shot 11-for-13 from the field and finished with a team-high 27 points and Kevin Durant added 24 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Golden State led by 16 points at the half and mirrored that intensity in the second half. Rudy Gay finished as the Spurs’ leading scorer, putting up 15 points off the bench while LaMarcus Aldridge and Bryn Forbes added 14 points apiece.

The Spurs shot just 40 percent from the field in the loss while the Warriors were in top form.

Injury Report

Spurs star forward Kawhi Leonard has reportedly been ruled out for the remainder of the playoffs, so any hope that he could come to the rescue in this series seems misguided. Leonard was one of the best players in the NBA a year ago but has barely played this season.

He has been medically cleared by San Antonio’s staff to return from a quadriceps injury, but it seems like Leonard either can’t play or doesn’t want to for San Antonio. It is a tense situation and apparently the Spurs are not going to get Leonard back on the court, which makes it very unlikely they can pull out even a couple of games in this series.

Free NBA ATS Picks

The Warriors dealt with some boredom in the regular season and didn’t finish with the top seed in the West, but still entered the postseason as the team to beat in the NBA. Golden State showed its ability when everything is clicking in Game 1.

Look for the Spurs to put up a much better fight this time around. Golden State is going to struggle more than usual to score, and San Antonio is the pick to cover this spread. The Warriors are going to win to take a 2-0 lead, but it’s not going to be as easy as the first time around.

Consider the “under” as the Spurs are going to try to slow this game down whenever they can in NBA basketball betting.

NBA ATS Pick: Warriors 106, Spurs 99
