Odds Analysis

The Clippers have a record of 8-5 on the season. They have gone 7-1 at home on the year and are expected to be the favorite in this one provided all of their big names are on the court.

The Celtics have a mark of 10-2 on the year. They dropped their opener by 14 points to the 76ers but ever since have looked fantastic. Boston is a couple of games ahead of the rest of the pack but will need to keep winning with the Bucks, Heat, Raptors and 76ers on their heels.

Injury Report

Paul George missed the first few weeks of the season while recovering from offseason shoulder injuries but is now back on the court. He is a key piece for Los Angeles, which dealt some good players to the Thunder this offseason in order to acquire him. The Clippers are hoping to be at full strength in this one.

Fellow star Kawhi Leonard is dealing with a knee injury that kept him out of a recent game, and his availability will have a serious effect on the spread. Leonard is one of the best players in the NBA and the Clippers addition of he and George in the offseason has catapulted them to championship favorite.

Point guard Patrick Beverly is dealing with a calf injury, and that is another ailment to keep an eye on as he is another important piece.

Player To Watch

Kemba Walker -- Boston lost Kyrie Irving to the Nets in free agency, but it may have been a good thing, because it allowed for Walker to come in and take over the role as the team’s go-to guy on offense. Walker is off to a fantastic start, averaging 24.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.

Walker is shooting 42.3 percent from three-point range, and if he can hit it that well throughout the season, Boston is going to be hard to stop. The Celtics have long had talent but they seem to have found a better chemistry this season, and the addition of Walker has been a big help after some issues with Irving as the team’s best player.

NBA Pick

The Celtics are playing really well but this is not an easy matchup. The Clippers are at home and may have the most talented team in the NBA when healthy. Keep an eye on Leonard’s status, because if he sits it will be a big boost for the Celtics.

The feeling is that Leonard and George will both be on the court together for this one, which will help give the Clippers the edge. Boston is a very good team but Los Angeles is a potentially great one and will make a statement with a victory in this showdown.

NBA Pick: Los Angeles Clippers 111, Boston Celtics 105
