The Milwaukee Bucks have the best record in the NBA, so it is of little surprise that a Finals matchup of the Warriors and Bucks is listed as the most likely scenario. The oddsmakers have pegged the likelihood of it happening at +230 odds.
The Toronto Raptors have been right on the heels of Milwaukee for most of the season, and the addition of Kawhi Leonard has this team feeling like it can make a championship run. An NBA Finals showdown between Toronto and the Warriors is being listed at +350 odds.
The Philadelphia 76ers are in good shape to finish with the No. 3 seed in the East, and they have been given the third-best odds to make it to the finals. Their odds to meet up with the Warriors are set at +425. The other wager which seems realistic is a finals between Golden State and the Boston Celtics. This was the most likely scenario in the preseason but Boston has failed to live up to expectations, which is why the odds are lower at +550.
The matchup with the fifth-highest odds is the first one that doesn’t involve the Warriors. The Houston Rockets are widely seen as their most likely contender in the West, as James Harden is once again playing like an MVP. If Houston can manage its way to the Finals, its most likely foe would be the Bucks. The odds of that being the championship matchup are listed at +1250.
A showdown between the Rockets and Raptors comes in at +1600, followed by +1900 for Rockets-76ers and +2400 for Rockets-Celtics. These six teams are the ones that the oddsmakers think have the legitimate chances at making the NBA Finals, as the rest of the bets are huge longshots.
