NBA Basketball Odds - Los Angeles Lakers at Philadelphia 76ers Game Preview

NBA Basketball Odds

The Los Angeles Lakers did not end up with Anthony Davis, and now must figure out how to somehow move past all the trade deadline drama and try to make a run at the playoffs. It has been a chaotic year for Los Angeles. The Lakers were playing well until LeBron James went down for multiple weeks with an injury, and all of the rumors surrounding a trade for Davis has torn apart the team.

The Lakers need to pick it up quickly down the stretch but have a really tough game next time out against the Philadelphia 76ers. Philly is not only the better team but also gets the game at home, which will make it tough for Los Angeles to pull the upset.

A championship for the Lakers this season seemed like a longshot but the team was still expected to make the playoffs and win a series or two. They are currently in line for the lottery so an upset here would be a big help in NBA betting lines.

This NBA basketball game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers will be held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 10th, 2019. The game will be nationally televised on ABC.

Odds Analysis

The Lakers are 28-27 on the season. They are 1.5 games behind the Clippers for the No. 8 and final seed in the Western Conference playoffs. The Clippers traded away their best player at the deadline so they could sink in the standings and open an avenue for the Lakers. Los Angeles is just 4-6 in its past 10 games and has gone 12-15 on the road this season.

The 76ers are 34-20 on the year. They have lost two straight games and are hoping to turn it around soon. They are safely in the playoffs but are trying to finish with one of the top seeds and currently sit at No. 5 in the East. Philadelphia has gone 21-6 at home this year and will be favored to capture this contest.

Key Stat

Zero. That’s how much time was remaining last time out when Lakers guard Rajon Rondo sunk a jumper to lift the Lakers to a 129-128 win over the Celtics. It was a gigantic win as Los Angeles aims to put the past several days behind it and start to make a playoff push.

The Lakers fell down the standings because James wasn’t available, but now he is back and healthy. James had an impressive showing against Boston, finishing with 28 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists and three steals.

Trade Addition

The Lakers didn’t make a big move at the deadline and now has to face a team that did pick up a key piece. The 76ers acquired Tobias Harris from the Clippers. While that could help the Lakers pass their city brethren the rest of the way, Harris could play a role in knocking them off in this one.

Harris is averaging 20.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists. He is shooting 49.6 percent from the field and 43.4 percent from three-point range. While Harris may not put up as big of numbers now that he will be sharing the offensive load with players like Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler, he is still a key piece.

Free NBA ATS Picks

The Lakers may have picked up a nice win last time out but they are very inconsistent. The team needs to start stringing together wins but that’s too much to ask in this one. The 76ers are the more talented team and they also have the home court advantage.

Philadelphia is the pick to win this game and also to cover the spread in NBA wagering.

NBA ATS Pick: Philadelphia 76ers 117, Los Angeles Lakers 109
